You're absolutely right, there are no guarantees but I'm assuming it would go a long way as compared to an unguarded cable. All depends on the motivation of the thief/vandal.

Either that or create a locked steel cabinet around the cable (or charger) that unlocks with the app. Sad that these things may be necessary.

It turned out that my 345xx VIN was damaged in transit so I have a replacement coming but they confirmed that it DID NOT have the PTC installed. The replacement is a 330xx VIN so we'll see.

In what sense was it not reliable? Does it jam? When I ordered my inventory car during the last week of March, I was told that it was just rolling off the line. So some possibility that the tonneau is in place.
