I was an actual vegan for quite a few years in my late teens and early 20s. Certainly fell into that tell everyone trap at first, but pretty quickly learned to avoid the subject. Later on, anytime it came up everyone would have some gotcha argument against it. Always something I’d heard before...
Just picked up my truck at the Sacramento Service Center.
I dropped it off on August 3rd and picked it up today, August 17th. They were ready yesterday mid-day.
I'll go through my list of issues and comment on the fixes.
They replaced the backup light lens and the all the plastic on the rear...
I was just at the Sacramento SC this morning. They told me it's looking like late September / early October for the Reno service center. Some delays with permitting, it was originally going to be August.
I'm also looking forward to it.
My R1T has been in for service for 2 weeks now, and I've thought about what I might do if they pass the 30 day threshold. For me it's a lot of smaller issues, so I doubt I'd do anything drastic like lemon it.
In your case I agree, a new one would risk more issues. Hopefully they just hurry up...
Take a look at the California Lemon Law. I'm no expert, but my understanding is if it's out of service for repair for a total of 30 days you can make them either buy it back at MSRP or give you a new one.
Sounds like you've just passed the 30 day threshold, so you might be able to get them to...
I drove by it around July 20th. It's in a nondescript industrial park, and it wasn't totally obvious which part of the building. It's a really big building that takes up basically the whole block and has multiple tenants. But it looked like the unit on the corner had construction going on...
I do agree they need to scale their service with production.
I also think if they work out a lot of their quality control issues it will go a long way towards helping the service backlog.
They deliver vehicles with a ton of obvious flaws that should have been fixed on the assembly line.
I had...
Yeah me too. I had a 2019 ICE Volvo V60 before the C40 and in some ways it was better. It had features like a HUD that the C40 was missing. Even though it was about $15k cheaper. But The Android system on the C40 was a big upgrade over the previous Volvo system.
I’d get another Volvo or...
Hmm, did you miss some updates on your XC40? With the 2.2 update Volvo added CarPlay. When I got my C40 it didn't have it, but after that update it did. Wired only, but it worked great.
This is interesting. I wonder if it's a R1S vs R1T thing? My wife and I both agree the R1T rides...
I picked up an R1T Launch Edition in Launch Green on June 7th. It was made in May. It's a 2023 with all the changes you'd expect on a 2023.
I think it's things like the original reservation holder ended up canceling, but the truck still got made, so it ends up in the shop.
Sorry you had this experience. I would also be pretty upset about it, and would hope they would be showing more effort to do something to make it right.
I'm very curious to know any summary of what you saw and what you think about it.
Given the fit and finish of my R1T it feels like there was...
Also Snow tires tend to have a rubber compound that stays soft at lower temperatures, combined with sipes to maintain traction on snow and ice.
Yeah for getting into and out of the basin I think this is true.
Of course this last winter was exceptional, but there were many many times with...
Are you planning on having a Rivian SC do the wheel swap so they can do whatever software changes they do when you change rims? Or just swap and let it be.
Hoping they make the wheel / tire size configurable before this winter, so I can also get a set of 20"s and put winter tires on them, then...
I live in Tahoe full time and always run actual winter tires from sometime in November until May or so.
When I lived in San Francisco, I also just ran winter tires from around Thanksgiving until maybe April or so, but I was driving up here a lot.
But if you're only doing a handful of trips to...
I guess so? It's one of the most flashy metrics, and for now it differentiates EVs, also easy to show off. People are also obsessed with range, even though for most trips it doesn't matter.
But I recently read an interview with a Volvo exec about the EX30, and they were saying they didn't even...
Ok, I think I get what you're saying. To rephrase it a bit with some examples, the Volvo C40 has as 78kW/h battery. Using a heat pump there may save a large enough overall percentage of the vehicles power draw to make it worth the extra cost and complexity. Versus in an R1 with almost a 2x...
I've been wondering this for a while and thought I'd ask if anyone has speculation about why Rivian might have decided not to use a heat pump in the R1s?
The 2022 Volvo C40 that I just sold had a heat pump and worked great through this last winter in Tahoe, the closest and most snowfall winter...
I just hope it doesn't end up like the Bronco Sport is to the real Bronco.
The Bronco Sport may share some of the front end styling with the Bronco, but otherwise it's a Ford Escape and I feel like it just dilutes the Bronco brand.
