I’m selling a lightly used Ikamper skycamp mini 3.0 in rocky black finish. I used this tent on and off for a cross country road trip this fall and now that the trip is done I don’t have space to store it. Great tent, very comfortable, and high quality materials. There are a few scratches on the...
Yeah the thunderbolt camp kitchens do look amazing and I thought about getting one of these but didn’t want to get anything that was Rivian/R1T specific (except for the bed rack) just yet. I love the R1T but there are a few things that I’m hoping will be fixed with version 2 and then maybe I’d...
Yeah I ended up doing to that EA station down the street but was limited to 40 or 50kw. It got the job done but it took way longer than I would have liked.
Yup I agree and dirving across the country is something i've wanted to do for awhile now. EV's definitly can but you do have to have time on your hands. Glad I could provide some inspiration and I hope you enjoy whatever adventure you take!
I don't have any good photos unfortaunely but here is a short video of my frist night camping in zion - . Rivian Forums didn't like me uploading a 4k video and the streamable will expire in 2 days so if you don't get a chance to see it, drop me a message and i'll try to upload to rivian forums...
Glad you enjoyed it and I hope you feel better soon.
I haven't lived in Ontario for quite a few years now but i'm not that surprised that charging isn't great there. If i'm ever back there with the truck i'll have to make a trip out east!
The reason I went with the roof top tent was:
Ease/speed of setup and teardown
Always being able to sleep on a flat surface (rivian can auto level in camp mode)
No dirt/water to worry about on the bottom of a tent
Being raised off the ground (This doesn't matter too much to me)
Some of these...
There is still something about a paper map that I really enjoy.
Thats very kind of you to offer, If I'm passing through pheonix again i'll shoot you a message and we can grab a beer.
hahah I absolutely thought about it but felt like that would be "cheating" a little bit. Glad to know i'm not the only crazy one who has these kinds of thoughts though :CWL:
I love that! I wasn't sure if I should even make this post but this is all the validation I need that it was worth the time. I'll look into reaching out to Rivian, who knows what might happen.
Thanks! I'm not really sure as I didn't track the winds but I did notice my efficiency took a pretty big nose dive once I got to texas and I wasn't sure what I was doing differently. Maybe it was the winds
I recently finished a 2 month long, 10,000 mile road trip across the states and back in the truck (El Cap/Forest Edge, 20" AT tires, 13xxx VIN) and thought I would catalog my experience here as well as answer any questions the community might have (if any). Overall the trip was amazing and I'm...
@Brewbud I'm planning to run the same setup as you (with the platform). If you could provide as much information as you're willing to that would be very helpful. Dimensions of the platform, how you built it, how you secured the platform / fridge. Anything and anything you're willing to share...
Do you have a link to the one you bought?
I'm trying to make this decision now myself and part of me wants to just get a gas burner but the other part of me thinks induction would just be simpler.... I do love that BBQ though
Appreciate the insight. Why is 12V the preferred way? I'm pretty new to overlanding / truck camping so I appreciate the ELI5 explanations. Usually I am on the motorbike when camping/adventuring so I just eat freeze dried meals but for a multi month road trip and the space in the truck, I don't...
