So I know there was some confusion about Launch Green being a paid upgrade a while back (and I've been out of the loop to avoid going crazy for the next few months, so excuse me if this has already been posted) but Rivian.com/R2 now shows this about the launch package:
A little bummed that LE...
I won't buy from a dealer ever again. My gf wanted to look at an Ioniq a while back and it reminded me why I hate dealerships so much.
100% never buying from a dealership again unless its through a Leasehackr PND or something like that where I don't have to play those games.
That would also...
Customer service also has a $ amount attached, and when a $50k vehicle is their main business in the near future, they can’t provide all the amenities they did for a $100k vehicle.
shitty move if this is a new policy. I completely get not providing for out of warranty or non-warranty covered repairs, but if its a warranty repair that means its a Rivian "failure" and transportation should be covered.
Before anyone starts arguing semantics, I use failure only because...
Not looking to trade, but I’m taking my 20s off next month to put my 21s back on if you’re interested in just purchasing mine. I have 5 wheels (so a full size spare) and General Grabber ATX’s with probably 50% tread life left.
If you can wait 6 months you could probably get a better deal with the R2 comes out and people are looking to get rid of R1's who are going to the R2, that being said if you're not in a hurry, I'll have an R1T I'd be willing to chat about. Will PM you.
It took a good few years for that to to happen, though. For those first few years a new 21" tire was like $450. For a more mainstream vehicle that seems like a poor decision.
Got this for my center console, but due to life never got around to installing it, and now the R2 is imminent. I've verified it works, and all parts are still there, including the bypass keys.
$120 $100 shipped.
Part number on install sheet comes back as this on Amazon...
And get really really close, yeah.
Like I said, OCD, it’s not logical, it’s neurotic.
May still do it. May sell them and buy after market 20s instead, may just get Premium instead of LE/Performance. We’ll see what mood I’m in when orders open.
I have been debating keeping my factory 20s from the R1T (since it came with 21s im putting back on) but the tire sizes don’t match and that irks my OCD.
If its more than $1k for LE Green that means I definitely won't do a LE and will wait for the Premium vs LE most likely.
That being said ask me again in 24 hours and my answer will probably change again.
Oh you're not wrong, but the question is it worth waiting ~6 months to have more time until I can justify "needing" an upgrade, and with the disruption in tech and EVs lately that's a really hard question to answer.
100% valid, and that's part of my internal debate, but realistically deliveries...
