  1. Eye Tracker: Too Efficient?

What about putting on sunglasses? I don't have autonomy+ any more but I seem to recall it being more forgiving when I was wearing sunglasses.
  2. Rivian removed Launch Green from the R2 Performance Package configurator on the website

They don't have ANY "launch green orders," let alone "too many" because, other than employees, nobody has been able to configure and order an R2 yet.
  3. ChargePoint in Rivian app

I think it's related to plug and charge for your vehicle. I think this is how locations that plug and charge (like tesla superchargers) know where to bill you. My mercedes doesn't plug and charge with Tesla but it does with electrify america and we were walked through linking chargepoint for...
  4. Ford $30K Midsize EV Pickup (Ranchero) - News & Info

    Well, they are (were?) cousins.
  5. 2026.07 "Improved Cellular Reliability" — Anyone Actually Seeing a Difference?

I don't think I've EVER gotten any of the app commands to work unless I send an "unlock" or "lock" command first to wake the vehicle up.
  6. Apple considering dropping MagSafe?

"There is no indication that ‌MagSafe‌ is at imminent risk of disappearing from the iPhone lineup." Clickbait title for a poorly written article.
  7. BYD Flash Charging. 800kW speed. Get full battery charge in 8 minutes

Even if the cars were sold here, it isn't like there are any 800kw chargers here. These speeds will reach these shores eventually. I can already see it. A bunch of 800kw chargers plugged into Chevy Bolts, taking 1+ hour to charge
  8. R2 rear wiper in action -- potential issues or FUD?

In the several cars I've owned that had rear wipers, the scenario you describe (reversing when front wipers are on) is the only time I've ever had the rear wiper activate. I don't think I've ever manually turned them on.
  9. Now that calibration is done, can LFP batteries safely go below 20%

There's no message either way, just the most recent text received from Rivian in January telling me to charge to 100% as often as possible and that I'll receive a text once it is complete. I don't see what slowing down the charge will do. 99% of my charging is level 2 and it already slows down...
  10. Now that calibration is done, can LFP batteries safely go below 20%

Who else, with the LFP pack, NOT has gotten the "calibration complete" text? I've charged to 100% dozens of times now since initially getting the text to do so in November 2025 and again in January 2026. I've yet to get the confirmation. That said, I recently went on a road trip and drove as...
  11. Ford $30K Midsize EV Pickup (Ranchero) - News & Info

First "peek" -- I'd say that's accurate. Very little to actually see here.
  12. Coastal Cloud Interior Not Available with R2 Launch Edition

I hope that's correct. I'm an early reservation holder and currently in an R1S lease. I would like both a launch edition and the light interior. Since I have quite a few months left on my lease, I'd happily configure an LE with a light interior even if it meant waiting a few extra months for my...
  13. Why I won't be waiting for Gen3 Autonomy+ hardware on R2

I'm unclear why FSD or autonomy+ would be needed in these situations. The built in navigation in both Tesla and Rivian clearly identify what lanes you need to be in as you approach an interchange.
  14. Chicago Block Party Photos - Half Moon Grey R2

The grille opening on R1 is above the bumper whereas it is below the bumper on R2. That's another quick tell from the front
  15. Why I won't be waiting for Gen3 Autonomy+ hardware on R2

I'm in both camps but I agree to a large extent. I had a model y for 4 years but hadn't been in a new one with FSD until very recently. My mind was blown at how good FSD is now. My friend, who has the new Model Y used it exclusively -- from pulling out of parking spot to parking at our...
  16. RJ's commitments on Gen 2 R1 Autonomous Driving: L2 this year (2026), L3 next year (2027)

I'd be surprised. They can't even catch or surpass Tesla when it comes to the app working correctly. I don't think having lidar is going to allow them to leapfrog all the years Tesla has invested into autonomous driving.
  17. Why I won't be waiting for Gen3 Autonomy+ hardware on R2

I agree. If it comes with the LE and I have it, I'll probably use it occasionally. If I wait and have to pay for it later, chances are I won't pay for it and won't be able to use it. More likely though, I'll be on to my next vehicle before lidar makes any difference to these first R2s
  18. Would you go with 20" wheels or 21" wheels on Launch Edition R2?

You are correct -- when I checked this morning when I wrote that, it showed "----" for all stats next to the performance R2. Overall, it's a difference of 23 miles anyway -- considering the recommendation to charge to 80% or less regularly, that's realistically a difference of 18.4 miles range...
  19. Would you go with 20" wheels or 21" wheels on Launch Edition R2?

Your points about range are really only applicable to the tires that come on each rim from the factory. The stock 21" rims come with more efficient tires than the 20" rims. You can change the tires on the 20" rims to get better efficiency. 20" tires are generally cheaper than 21" tires and...
  20. R2 customer production started today! R2 configurator / ordering starts June

I wonder what that series of speed bumps immediately after the roll out is for? Find any immediately loose pieces?
