Adding as a datapoint. Just had the new one installed on mine and it took a day. My VIN is 9xxx and I already had the original replaced with the 1.5 version. New one is crazy smooth and can't compare it to the old ones at all. Hopefully it works for a long time but just from first impressions...
I have a Gen1 R1T. Over the last couple of updates, I've noticed that when I use the driving assistance on freeways, the car would do a random beep for literally 1/4-1/2 a second. The display doesn't change at all but it sounds like the start of the "danger" sound and not the "take over now"...
Recently, I noticed 3x in the app that my tonneau cover is showing as open. When I go to the truck it looks closed but when I press the tonneau button, it basically closes 1/2". Anyone else experiencing something similar? Wonder if a tonneau reset would just fix it or is it indicative of a...
Got the LTs installed yesterday and pumped it up to 55 PSI. Definitely feels slightly stiffer but that's to be expected. The LTs are just as quiet as the SLs. I'll update my efficiency after I get some miles on the tires.
Main issue is the TPMS is probably going to light up because it's below the factory 48. While it's probably safe to inflate it to the max recommended or even slightly beyond to get rid of the light, I prefer being safe than sorry with my family in the car, so moved to the LT rated ones.
Adding another data point but this seems to have solved the drain. I have a Gen1 R1T and was recently gone for 7 days on a trip. Truck was parked in the garage and the battery tender plugged in. Over 7 days, the truck went from 61% to 59%. Strange thing was the 2% loss all happened in the first...
Just to follow up, I emailed Nitto customer service to ask about the specs change and they confirmed it was an error at launch. I asked them to swap my tires to the LT and I'll cover the price difference and they agreed. They created a case number and I had to go to my local America's Tire (AT)...
I've had these for about 6 months now and ran them at the old 51 psi max and seemed fine. Ijust lowered my tires to 48 after seeing the updates here. So what happens when a manufacturer just seems to arbitrarily change the specs after the release and doesn't notify any existing owners? Just...
I have the 20" SL version in EM size. Installed it in December 2024 and efficiency was ~1.8. Recently did a drive to Tahoe and efficiency improved to 1.91. I expect it to keep climbing as the weather gets warmer. My anecdotal experience in the Tahoe drive is the tires are about the same or maybe...
I have R1T Large pack, 20" AT. On my Pirellis, I made it from SSF to the EA charger in South Lake Tahoe without stopping last winter. Conditions were nice though as I avoid driving up in a blizzard and I was traveling between 70-75 on the freeway on conserve mode and used driver assist before...
Did a drive down the 101 in SF Bay. Elevation change along the route was negligible (10-50 ft difference) and was traveling between 60-75 mph in AP mode. Last 15 minute chart is giving me optimism but I only have 250 miles on these tires.
I have 20k on the pirellis and the middle in most of the tires are at 4/32 while the edges are between 7-8/32. I've kept them inflated at 48lbs and rotated them once at 10k miles but it seems like maybe I should lower the PSI? I'll chalk test these new ones once I get them mounted though.
I got sick of waiting for the Toyos to come back in stock and ordered these in SL on Tirerack today and got the shipping notice already. Just an FYI for anyone else waiting. Unfortunately, the first appointment to install at my America's Tire is Jan 6th so will have to wait.
when I try to order these on Tirerack, it won't let me select my local America's Tire (I'm in CA) with this warning "Restrictions, America's Tire is only able to install factory size tires." Anyone else get this and how'd you get around it?
I did a service at SSF last month and the tech said "cool running boards" and that was about it. I can't imagine any SC ever denying service for running boards. That's just asking for bad publicity.
