October 2019 R1S LE order (RB,OC,22" Bright). Fingers crossed but as an Illinois resident, I am hoping I can push into early July (State $4,000 tax rebate kicks in on 7/1/22). After last nights earnings call... what are your thoughts on timelines? I feel R1T delivery will be on schedule, but...
I got the same estimate and was going to ask the guide to make the purchase on July 1st whenever they reach out to me. $4k is a decent chunk of change to wait a month for.
Also, this was being discussed in another thread...
I doubt this would be possible... I was hoping by the time R1s production starts that there would be an option for the electrochromatic roof... but that might be wishful thinking too :(
I'm in the Northern burbs but liked the Fulton Market location because it would have been a nice place to charge up when going out for Dinner/night out.
I would LOVE if they gave the electrochrmatic roof option for R1S. It was one of its hallmark features when it debuted and I know the wife was a little disappointed when she found out the sunroof can't change.
That said, we were at the drive event on a hot sunny day and that tint worked...
So for those that are invited and going.... are you supposed to come at your specified time slot or earlier? They say in the experience is a 2 hour thing but the appointment is only for 1/2 hour??
Kind of an offshoot thought... Why hasn't RAN partnered with Whole Foods to get chargers at all their locations. With the Amazon connection it would make perfect sense.
Is Rivian not allowed to sell in Illinois? Then why build a showroom in Fulton Market (Chicago)?
It would be insane if this state passed a bill that left out their own EV manufacturer...
Thats a big chunk of change for me to leave on the table... Hopefully Rivian being an Illinois based company would understand why we would want to wait to take delivery.
Have they released any details on how the rebate is applied?
Got the last slot for Sunday!! Can't wait (though I will have to listen to the bears game instead of watching it since I have to drive down to Normal.... small price to pay :))
I am pleasantly surprised. Really comes down to how many stalls per location, but it does look like they have ample coverage for the entire chicagoland area.
No. I would need a test drive or 10 day trial with the car prior to completing purchase. Reality is that its a new company with a new model car and an unknown track record. I have purchased cars in the past sight unseen, but in those cases have gone to a dealer and test drove the model prior...
Is it me or does it not seem like there is a grove for a sunshade on the panoramic roof. That would be a welcome addition as they removed the electrochromatic option.
