I'm curious about getting running boards installed to make it easier for the wife and kids to get in and out of the R1S. Are there any trade offs/issues with service later on that need to be considered?

Yeah, I went with Carvana. Nice and easy. They beat KBB associated local dealers and Rivian's trade in (and I'm in NJ where there is no tax benefit to trade).

Is the battery chemistry different? If you can charge the new large to 100% then while smaller in overall capacity it might still be more practical.

You will be able to cast YTTV to the car whenever this lands. This honestly gives freedom to view a wider array of content than I even can in our Y today, so it's actually a leapfrog moment for Rivian.

The Rivian team are full of ideas. Casting is a clever way to answer the streaming challenge quickly while they tackle native integration. Think it's great. I see no reason they can't find a solve for text messaging assistance without handing over control to AA or CP anyway. May be other...
