I keep reading comments on the Tesla sound blowing away the Rivian stock sound. At least on our 22 Y, I think the sound is pretty darn comparable to what we have in the R1S.
In terms of AC, they are both pretty loud when cooling initially but then I find they both quiet down nicely as they get...
I'm curious about getting running boards installed to make it easier for the wife and kids to get in and out of the R1S.
Are there any trade offs/issues with service later on that need to be considered?
Yeah, I went with Carvana. Nice and easy. They beat KBB associated local dealers and Rivian's trade in (and I'm in NJ where there is no tax benefit to trade).
As long as RJ can make money off it - then it's great for me.
I am delighted with my Gen 1 R1S, and just want more people to buy these cars in configurations where Rivian can make money so the company can stick around.

This tracks, but man, I would probably throw down a couple grand to get a heat pump and improve efficiency in the winter.
I charge at home so not the biggest deal but I def envy new buyers this one thing...
I love my R1S, but if Hoon is right on Threads, and the refresh introduces a heat pump, then that would materially boost efficiency in the winter and is a significant upgrade.
My sense is that the subscription fee will relate to the data subscription for the vehicle (which enables hot spotting, nav) as well as casting. The nuance of casting vs. running off native apps is that it also opens window for people to work from their car (and pretty comfortably from an R1...
You will be able to cast YTTV to the car whenever this lands. This honestly gives freedom to view a wider array of content than I even can in our Y today, so it's actually a leapfrog moment for Rivian.
The Rivian team are full of ideas. Casting is a clever way to answer the streaming challenge quickly while they tackle native integration. Think it's great.
I see no reason they can't find a solve for text messaging assistance without handing over control to AA or CP anyway.
May be other...
