I've had my R1T since March 2022, VIN 34xx, though it only has about 10K miles (I have a short commute). I've had a rattle and one issue with water intrusion into a front wiring harness that disabled the front radar and windshield camera (strange) and the result was the loss of Driver+. Rivian...
Perhaps not exactly the same issue, but after the 2023.24.0 SW update, my truck threw warnings about front sensors and front camera not available and Driver+, collision avoidance and auto high beams disabled. I thought this must be related to a wiring harness, but didn’t see how the SW update...
The most prominent theory I've heard put out there about the short 215kw charge level (by @OutofSpecKyle) is that Rivian has some hotspots in their pack that is preventing them for holding that level of charge for longer. They keep making adjustments via software updates and have made some...
Really nice to hear that and this would also be a future proofing step as they transition to a 800v architecture. For the current generation R1x, I'd be happy if they could improve cooling so it could hold 215kw deeper into the charging curve. That alone would be huge.
Eventually, I'd like to get a second Rivian. Probably the model with the LFP batteries and dual motors and generally less expensive options. I'd totally go for the manual cover for that one.
My guess is the stock price played a huge role in his decision - and probably with other senior leadership departures, too.
All of those massive options or restricted stock units aren't as valuable and they probably aren't going to get the payday they imagined. When stock prices go down at a...
I took my truck to the SF service center back in November for this issue. The mechanic rode with me and said he knew exactly what was happening and it was usually fixed by lubricating some of the half shaft parts. I was very skeptical, but the issue essentially disappeared and hasn't returned.
Thank you for posting this! I've been waiting for the right non-AT tire to come out for the 20"s. I'm not super familiar with tires and their load ratings, but are these overloaded or just right at the recommended load?
My R1T is VIN 34xx and it also developed the tock at perhaps 1000 miles into ownership. I took it to the SF SC in Nov to address that and one or two other minor issues. The tech said he'd lubricate bushings in the half shaft and that might help. I was very skeptical, but it actually solved...
Took delivery in San Jose on March 23 and now have 5,700 miles on it. Daily driver on a short commute to work. Also took a few day trips to Carmel and Point Reyes. I've only had a couple of minor issues which the service center quickly addressed. This has been the best truck (or car) I've...
I also have both vehicles and I agree on almost all of those points. I haven't experienced the toll booth problem (though I've only driven a few hundred miles with Driver+). When driving both vehicles over the holidays, both had a phantom braking, which is always a bit scary. Tesla is...
I nearly always drive in All Purpose mode, Standard Height and in Stiff Mode. The Stiff Mode could be a bit harsh before the update. Post update, it is still firm and still gives good road feel without being 'floaty'. Stiff Mode seems a little quieter now, too. Honestly I was a bit surprised...
