LOW Regen is exactly like an automatic transmissionā¦..
All TeslaS are one speed motors so there is no jerkiness of
changing gears and inducing a spin!
BUT, I reiterate, snow tires make all the diff
@HaveBlue
Tesla has two regen modes: Standard and Low
winter driving would benefit from LOW regen mode
P.S. I switch to LOW regen and winter tires once the cold season
sets in. BTW, winter rubber is superior to all-season once the exterior temperature is below 7āC (Canada) or 44.6 āF
@Bullwinkle
Iām a huge believer in two sets of wheelsā¦ā¦
one with summer rubber
and the second with winter rubber
Naturally, a smaller wheel diameter like 20ā for winter wheels
and light-weight forged wheels for summer (21ā or 22ā Atomic)
P.S.I highly recommend these winter boots for Rivian...
@CrazyOne, I totally agreeā¦..especially in winter-like settings
An overly aggressive regen can and will disrupt the vehicle balanceā¦..
Secondly, a larger 22ā wheel, preferably a forged one like Atomic wheels, will reduce the unsprung weight and bring about a more sure-footed handling.
Naturally...
Sad to hear the many complaints about DEAD 12v batteries.
IMHO, if you are not driving your Rivian, or any vehicle for that matter, on a regular basis, then the 12v battery will prematurely die
i kept my 2000 Corvette plugged to a trickle charger all the time, and my ORIGINAL 12v battery lasted...
Drats!!!
Happy to experience the live prototype R2 in Detroit since I cannot attend to
Toronto show
I WILL definitely test-drive the R1 if allowed
P.S. Deposit placed yesterday
RJ Scaringe recently hinted that the R2 does not need 800Vā¦.
he stated that the battery chemistry and structure (4695) were
more important factors in charging speed
I will be attending the Detroit Auto Show on Tuesday Jan 14.
Driving from Toronto area to preview the R2 and hopefully
experience a test-drive.
Will subsequently confirm the deposit ($150 Cdn) and
join the 100,000+ waiting list.
P.S. My FIRST post!?
