your detective work needs some work my friend. I got your DM, but I still have my truck. also Mine has different options than this one, I Live hundreds of miles away, and my truck is in perfect condition. and sorry, but not for sale ;)
Yeah I’m bummed that despite the promises Rivian’s driver assistance is just slightly better than the Audi I bought 10 years ago, however I’m moving on and just ordered a comma Ai 3x. So I’ll have hands free driving in my R1 in ~6 weeks for $1200
Ugh. @EV Sportline you really got to send that email to those who bought this jack. The customers that followed your instructions (below) and stored it on its side likely have failed emergency gear like myself and @NY_Rob. You got to get the word out and make this right before folks need it in...
I would argue that the horse isn't dead unit @EV Sportline corrects the two different messages
This from their website
and this from this thread
And since a lot of customers got their jacks after they were told it could be stored on its side that they inform those customers via email that...
Did you read above where I noted that per webarchive.org they didnt originally have that on their product page? So when I bought it I 1) relied on what was printed in the box 2) relied on this thread (that explicitly said I could lay it on it's side) and 3) relied on the product page at the time...
Bro. read above. They NEVER printed it in their instructions. But the DID post that "The jack can be stored on it's side, yes." All they did is added it to the bottom of their website AFTER the product was in customer's hands with it at the very bottom. I READ the instructions, followed them...
It might be common knowledge but I didn’t have it. And clearly EV sportline didn’t have it either when they explicitly told all of us in this thread that we could store it on its side! (per above).
@EV Sportline - can you explain to me why you wrote this in this thread (that I clearly read in 2023 as I responded to this thread in 2023)? And after I followed all your directions you printed and followed all the directions on your product page (published in 2023) that you commented on my...
Yeah, I get it. I really don't care about the jack at this point. shit happens and they are willing to make it right. I would have been done with the original PSA. I'm now commenting on the idea that they actually provided instructions with this info called out and I ignored it. It wasn't...
And yes I know there are additional instructions on their website here which says they "recommend" storing it upright. However, the internet is archived so you can see what pages looked like in the past. Here is what that webpage looked like in Feb of 2023. Where does it say I need to store it...
I agree. Just like failure to print important information in the instructions is a failure on the manufacture who printed and provided the instructions (e.g. these instructions provided by EV Sportline).
@Leonbmx Curious how your jack is holding up. Mine failed because apparently you can't store the "Rivian Specific" jack it in the Rivan spare tire/jack comportment (noted here)
It's called out on the website as the "first Rivian specific bottle jack" and defended in many posts on this forum. Yes, it's just a generic bottle jack that ships with a Rivian puck. That's my point. If it was just listed as compatible, I'd have no issues with a) not being able to follow...
I appreciate EV Sportline offering to replace it and even offer a gift card for the tire change service. However, it's not about the money. I'd much rather @EV Sportline send an email blast to those who ordered the jack with something like "hey, make sure you didn't store the jack in your R1T...
1. if storing it flat leads to failure, it would seem like a good idea to print it and include it in the instructions. How many people scan a QR code on a jack to read the instructions online when they are included printed in the product. This is a CYA situation so you can modify the...
NO, Step 1 was to reach out to AAA for help as I needed to change my flat tire and didn't have a working jack. I have no need to reach out directly as I have no interest in a replacement. My goal was to warn others to go check on theirs, so they are not screwed if they need it in an emergency...
Since you are interested feel free to RTFM. Might be a bit hard to read as it's covered in it's own oil!
@EV Sportline even if you wanted people to store it laying down (even though you didnt print that in the manual it came with), we don't keep this stored on a shelf in our garage, we keep...
Warning for anyone who bought the @EV Sportline Rivian specific 6-ton bottle jack...go check on it.
I bought the EV Sportline jack March of 2023. Rivian wasn't selling spare kits at the time so I built my own. Never used the jack once, but put it in my R1T spare compartment in case I needed it...
