The main issue we had (aside from having to cut a hole in the wall) was to deal with the fact that the portable charger requires a ground, and our 1960s built house has only a couple of grounded outlets - the 30A dryer outlet not being one of them. So I had to get the 10-30P to 10-50R adapter...
If this in in reference to my adapter post, I actually reduce the charging level to ~24A just to be safe. Nothing has been hot (or even really warm) to the touch during my charging sessions.
Between this thread and the "Swag" thread, it sounds like the Guide experience is very different from one to the next... you know, like normal people. That said, my Guide has been one of the "least effort possible" kind of guides. Nearly all of her responses have been "put in a service ticket."...
I'm 6'1" and I find the seats to be comfortable for the most part. I have no problem with the height or distance from the pedals. the lower portion of the seat is especially comfortable. The only thing I've noticed is that if I slouch too much, I can very distinctly feel the upper contour of the...
My first mile driver said that he would almost definitely be my home delivery driver as well... but we didn't wait that long. I hope he's doing well because we had a great time on the first mile.
I think you misunderstand... I only had to do that once to basically put it back on schedule. My schedule was from 3am - 10am, so the next morning when I woke up at 7, I just told it to start and it has followed the schedule ever since.
Basically, I you tell it to stop charging, it won't start...
Not even a little bit. I put down my reservation in July 2022, got my first mile in August of 2022, never got an invitation to configure, canceled my reservation in Jan 2023 when I bought a used R1T.
There is no correlation between First Mile and Purchase... it's more of a location lottery.
I had that same experience the first time I tried to use the scheduled charging. I had stopped the charging to set the schedule, and then it didn't charge during the scheduled time.
I determined that telling the truck to stop charging overrides any other charge settings. The next day, during...
FWIW, I recently purchased some cables and adapters to charger off our our 220 dryer outlet. It was only about 10' from the truck "as the crow flies" if the crow could fly through the wall between the two.
After hooking up all of the extensions and adapters, and putting a hole in the wall with...
This all tracks with my experience. We are still saving up for a dedicated charger (the charger is within our budget, but the new electrical panel was a surprise) and have been using a standard 120 outlet to charge for the last month. Thankfully I have a 4 mile commute, so charging back 8 miles...
This is all super exciting. I knew it was early days for tires that have to bear this kind of weight and power, so I'm sure we'll see more an more options as more EV Trucks hit the market.
I would definitely be interested in hearing anyone's experiences with these.
Yes, we bought expensive cars, but that doesn't mean we can be frugal on tires if they get the job done.
The way I understand the technology, the rear wheels are completely disconnected via an axle disconnect and are free-wheeling only, and neither contribute to drive nor regain when in Conserve mode.
Nothing spectacular, photographically, but here's my El Cap R1T at a local Rivian meet-up a few weeks ago. The Rivian Blue gives it a run for it's money, but for me, the El Cap is the best color available.
Not sure whether to call this a service call or not... the only ticket I had to put in was for replacement keycards since I bought mine used and was not provided with the original keycards.
I bought it used with just over 3,000 miles and have put on another 1,000 miles since taking ownership.
