I simply waited for the stock to reach my target price (around $60) and I'm set. My reservation is in stock, not a physical vehicle. I'll wait 6-8 years when they're able to have trucks sit on lots ready for the pickin'.
It's a bummer for sure. Thankfully I didn't reserve and I won't be in the market for an EV for a few years. Time will tell if they can hit their delivery numbers, especially if they get the plant in GA up and running at full speed. Maybe by 2032 the prices will be better, but at this point...
It'd be nice if Kia could make their configurator live online so we can see the differences in options between the Wind and GT-Line. I may opt for the Wind and I do love that the Kia and the Genesis versions have physical buttons for the heated seats/steering wheel, etc. The Ioniq doesn't have...
Yeah, I agree with having to travel for service. Not a big deal. I have a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek Plug-in hybrid and had to buy it in NJ. Service on the other hand is minimal and haven't had to deal with any specialized service yet.
Same. I'm 15min from Delaware so I would love to see a center in the area. If PA doesn't allow Rivian service/delivery, is it a company by company rule? I only ask because Tesla has a 'store' in Berwyn/Devon.
Exactly. Mine didn't come with one, but I have it to blow dust and all that stuff off of my tools when I clean up. Same situation here for the bed, pockets, etc.
Just to follow up, I saw that The Fast Lane Trucks posted a video where they showed a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the truck. Downside is the only tie-down spot for 1 or 2 sheets is loops on the tailgate, but that's probably not too bad depending on how far you're driving.
Yeah, if I'm buying this vehicle, it's to own it for 20 years so I would need it for all kinds of lumber when I need to do renovations, plus be able to handle whatever 20 years will bring.
I still don't quite like how that's worded because it could certainly mean that you can load plywood over the humps. Not a deal breaker, but you would need supports under the load so nothing bends (especially sheetrock).
LOL, I have the plug-in Crosstrek and there's definitely a tough time ahead trying to fit plywood in my car, but I likely can't fit a half sheet in my car either. 4x4 plywood is difficult, 2x4 would be easy.
It's kinda like MSFT. It's just one of those stocks you buy because it'll never crash. I started buying MSFT when they were under $100 back in 2018 and now they're over 3x higher. Hoping RIVN does the same here.
I end up buying a few shares here and there spread out across the spectrum as a long term holder in RIVN. I'll keep buying shares throughout the year so I have a good spread.
