  1. ā›”ļø Powered Tonneau cover removed from R1T production until further notice on all future deliveries

On thing this probably reveals is that the power tonneau isn’t a simple fix and it likely will require a chassis re-design which would come in the next gen R1T or a completely different solution. I’d rather have the manual cover, which I can store in my garage when not needed, than a power one...
  2. Polaris ATV fits in the R1T bed

Interesting. I'm sure this is somewhere, what's the weight limit of the tailgate?
  3. I'm Getting Cold Feet [** CLOSED DUE TO POLITICS DISCUSSION **]

R1S and the quad motor isn’t going away, it’s just an additional cost now over the dual motor.
  4. With interest rates rising, how many won’t be completing their R1 purchase?

The same goes for a good attorney ;-) To the OP's original question, this is a forum of people who really want their R1, so it may not be the best group to ask. Also, it will depend on each potential buyer when they are asked to complete the sale to determine if its financially feasible at the...
  5. Configuration page updated and items disappeared

It sounds like they are making some changes under the hood before they pull Oct 16 configurations for the updated online delivery window estimator feature. I checked and my configuration hasn't changed. All of the accessories are still there. (Crossbars, floor mats)
  6. Failed R1T auction: High bid price of $85K doesn't meet reserve

A white R1T just sold on Cars & Bids for $92k. Prices for aftermarket are definitely down. A day later a Lightning failed to meet its reserve with a high bid of $82k. The market is changing.
  7. R1S Quirks and Features - Coming soon (Doug Demuro review)

Will be great exposure for the R1S. His R1T is the second most watched Rivian video on YouTube.
  8. Hi Tony, one week of summer left, we gonna get a delivery window?

If we get all of this in an email I’ll be happy. I highly doubt we’re getting the long promised online delivery window information, but we can hope.
  9. Delivery date estimator tool based on where you are in line

As of now I disagree with this. Looking at the tracker of delivered vehicles here and elsewhere there is a very strong trend towards CA, CO, Washington State, Florida and TX. In the DC metro (6th largest) we donā€˜t have a service center. The closest one is 90 minutes away in Richmond, VA. CS has...
  10. Rockville, MD Location Has Closed

Gaithersburg is not convenient to anyone on the south end of the beltway.. Alexandria. There has not been any indication of a real location in the district for some time. I’d wager years before Rivian opens anything in the District, if ever.
  11. DMV Spotted Section

El Cap R1T seen on Telegraph Rd, Alexandria this week. LD R1T parked on King St last week. (MD plates)
  12. Possibly Pulling Trigger On Used R1T. What Would You Do?

I wouldn’t bank on that. Many of the people who have jumped the line are near major service centers and have gotten an R1T from a cancelled order. There are no ā€œinventoryā€ models. You likely wouldn’t see an R1 vehicle until end of next year at the earliest if you reserve no. New reservations...
  13. Steady flow of new customers?

I think, as a few others have mentioned, there is still a steady flow of new reservations coming in. Rivian is focused on ironing out its supply chain and ramping production. This will help accelerate sales further. Also, keep in mind, fleet is a big part of their business, as it is for most...
  14. will supply chains ever return to "normal"?

Building more domestic manufacturing is a good idea, but there are hurdles. 1) We don't have the cheap labor force that exists overseas. This is one of the biggest drivers for large corporations to offshore this production. 2) Goods produced here will cost more. This is fine for some consumers...
  15. Rivian Launching Boat *IN* Bear Lake Idaho - HILARIOUS!

Agreed. And if it was a soft surface, what if the truck starts to dig in. A tow out would be tough.
  16. N.J. bill would assess fee on electric cars by the mile ......

There will be some stupid ideas and some decent ideas as states try to eventually replace the gas tax. The revenue has to come from somewhere. It will be a bumpy road (pun intended) for some while this is ironed out.
  17. Canoo has $1 billion in “orders” but only $33.8 million in cash

Plus add in supply chain problems. Rivian, with a pile of cash, had trouble convincing suppliers they would pay. Imagine how this is going to go.
  18. Amazon Rivian Delivery Van well reviewed by delivery driver

Not to nit pick, but this guy freely admits he’s never driven it, just walked around it, and knows nothing about the technology that’s installed in the van. Kinda an odd decision to make the video before getting a chance to actually drive it.
  19. Rivian Rockville, MD Location is Now Open!

To be economical, they're going to need a DC location that's closer than Gaithersburg. It's funny how much focus is in other parts of the country, just not so much here.
