For 125 dollars Lucid will send you a V2V dongle so you can transfer energy from a Lucid to a stranded EV . With 120kW battery onboard Lucid can easily save a lot of stranded EVs owners. Last month we charged an EQS 450 that was stranded a few hundred feet from the EA station at Target on US1.
Rivian needs to copy the early Trade in model TESLA used on trading an existing Tesla for a new TESLA. It was a simple MSRP minus a time and mile formula. I have no idea what formula, if any, Rivian is using to offer 64k for our 2023 7.4k mile 15 month old R1S. Given how fast the offer...
I am sure they would rather have the cash in hand. You are not the first person to change their mind on a trade. I am sure Rivian has the right to change the deal if something happens to your car between now and the delivery date. When we traded in our R1T for the R1S, Rivian did the paperwork...
Same here !! we have a Lucid First edition and an R1S. The Lucid has no equal in driving dynamics. They just nailed it. If the Gravity inherits the same driving experience, the R1S is a goner.
Bringing a spare 12V battery on your trip is a good idea. My 12V battery dropped from 12V to 6V overnight and will not accept charge. I was lucky that it happened with the R1S parked in the garage. Rivian replaced it the same day. The original battery supplier was C&D technologies. I have not...
I very much doubt Rivian can increase the Siemens Motor efficiency by 1 or 2% overall. As an owner of a T and now an S the best numbers I have seen are around 2.4miles/kWh on a cool day in South Florida.
I expect a lot of Rivian fanboy noise for saying this but the biggest downgrade for me is switching to in-house motors. As an Investor, I am glad they did, but Bosch has been building motors for a century and Rivian is new at this.
Used our Lectron adapter for the first time on a TESLA supercharger. Worked with no issues. Easy to activate and de activate using the Rivian screen. Simple followup email showing the use and charges associated with the session. Nice to have access to almost all charging stations currently available
Good advice. I have an original 240V 40A Tesla charger available and will test the latching mechanism before I go live with it. So far the Charger appears to be well made.
I suspect Rivian will do V2V first as it is the easiest to implement. Lucid did it a few months back and it was nothing more than replacing the 240 volt charger cable connection with a 1772 and a software update. We tested it on our R1S and our son'e Model Y (with an adapter) and worked great...
