Not so timely on responses to my requests lately, but they do stand behind their products. Much appreciated. Perhaps just overwhelmed by success on the support side?
Same rack, but different installation method...
TracONE Bed Rack
$294 @ Home Depot
Identical to $700 Thule model except for decals and top bracket inserts. I took the stickers off for a cleaner look. 800 lb. capacity.
Mounting Clamps
$37 @ Amazon
These are designed for Toyota Tacoma and work...
I put together a quick template for a partition to insert into the slots in the rear underseat storage compartment.
The attached PDF is for legal size paper. You don't need a cad program, just print it out and you will have a perfectly sized template that you can tack to a plywood panel and cut...
That was my concern about upsetting people. I'm sorry if it upset you. It was not directed at you.
What I observed at my SC were a some owners who were exasperated at having to wait at all, complained about the lack of the specific gear shop item they wanted in the SC that had just opened...
Keeping mine in the frunk net. Have it in a felt-lined lens cover. Handy when I need without having to unpack the frunk, figuring that might be full of stuff if I'm on a long trip.
This really wasn't intended as an endorsement of one app over another, just a suggestion to use an app to double-check what the Rivian trip planner delivers, especially on any unfamiliar trip where you definitely will have to charge.
FWIW, we didn't know about Chargeway before the November...
I'd love to have that. However the software engineer in me understands that offering such does increase the complexity of the install base on which the software has to be validated. Perhaps there is something in their build pipeline that would make this not a big burden.
OK, thanks for that clarification.
I haven't had that same experience. Sorry I didn't understand. You're saying that the transition between apps isn't smooth, right?
My R1T is also gen1, so I imagine there are no hardware differences. I wonder what could make my experience so different.
ADAS...
OK, at the risk of offending some here, I also have to remark that my visits to Rivian SCs have given me a glimpse at some fellow/sister Rivian owners. I saw a number of owners demanding what I would call "white glove" service experiences. I suppose that is a predictable attitude given the...
I totally agree that there are plenty of rough edges in the Rivian service world. Can't imagine how difficult it must to expand capacity, train and onboard staff, and refine solutions as a new company... all while striving towards profitability. It is definitely not efficient and not a great...
This comment makes me think that you have strong opinions about Rivian's UI, but didn't bother to watch the video. There is really interesting information in there about how their UI objectives of low resource use, fault tolerance, and tremendous efficiencies.
If you don't like the UI, you are...
Stumbled into this amazing video from the 2024 Unreal Engine conference.
It provides great insights into Rivian's unique UX design, compute hardware for the infotainment system, rendering drive modes and driver display, the software stack and dev process, as well of the talented team of experts...
Good summary from the OP.
We also rented a Silverado EV while our R1T was in the SC over Christmas and New Years and used it for a road trip to New Orleans. Rented ours from Enterprise. It was the 4WT work truck rather than the fancy and $$$ RST version.
While we missed the creature comforts...
Glad you made it.
I don't yet have much experience with this on my R1T, but I can say this is a common scenario with EVs in general. IMHO, this has much more to to do with reliability/maintenance/transparency of EV charging infrastructure than it does Rivian's capabilities.
For longer trips on...
I'm in.
Left a message via the web form at your web site.
This seems mostly to be an independent device, just like those sold by other vendors. The only difference here is that it provides a way to toggle what displays on the built-in infotainment screen rather than having a screen of its own...
I'm in quite the same situation. Rebuilt from salvage and no warranty but still a bargain.
I don't have any more repairs to make, but would definitely chip in for access to service manuals, diagnostics, parts and OEM tools
Don't want to run afoul of Rivian's rules, but feel a bit held hostage...
Very interesting read. Excellent information, even if some is speculative.
While I am just as prone as others to geek out on what is possible, I think that we may be missing a key point....
Rivian has moved on from gen 1 and is largely disincentivized from enhancing self-driving features on...
