Agree with all of the comments with a caveat:
There will definitely be edge cases where these types of "solar generator" devices can be useful. For example: A few 100W panels plus a few kW of battery would be great for light campsite use + topping off daily phantom drain losses when off-grid.
On this, I agree that Rivian could've done better...especially in regards to reports of headlight and wiper issues in winter conditions. It's not as if heating elements were suddenly discovered last week.
