  1. Question About Chicago Charging

Folks: I'm going to be picking up a used Rivian R1T from the Chicago service center on Walnut Street on Saturday, June 14th. I will be road-tripping back to Minneapolis, so heading up I-90 to Madison Wi, where I join up with I-94 and then on to Mpls. I have my NACS to CCS adapter (A2Z Typhoon)...
  2. Gen2 RIVIAN R1S making a strange sound when charging. Smells like burning electronics. Can I get stats on last charging session?

I'm going to guess 72 inch-lbs is the actual torque value. That's 6 foot-lbs, which seems like a more reasonable value. 72 foot-lbs is lug nut territory, and would mash the wires in the outlet completely flat. As the previous poster stated, you need to check those on a semi-annual basis...
  3. Rivian (driver) blamed for death of a teen hit in school parking lot

Agreed on the clickbate title. They're trying to get pro-EV readers to show up to defend electric vehicles, and anti-EV readers to show up and vindicate their feelings.
  4. R1T vs. R1S

I'm a truck guy, although our household has a truck for hauling and road-tripping, and a small car for urban errands and commuting. I do haul lots of stuff for gardening and home improvement, so I definitely need a truck as opposed to an SUV. But in my local neighborhood, the SUV and crossover...
  5. Minnesota WTB-Gen 1 R1T

Yup - I've seen. Thanks for the direct link, tho.
  6. Minnesota WTB-Gen 1 R1T

That's interesting. I have a call into Rivian about something else - I'll ask them about this when I talk to them.
  7. New (to me) pop up trailer, and some related charging stuff

If you don't mind my asking, what efficiency did you get, and what speeds were you going? I'm looking at changing from a 'basic box' RV to a pop-up of some kind, and would love to know how much it does or doesn't help.
  8. Minnesota Sold: WTB-Gen 1 R1T

Many thanks to everyone who replied. I've decided to by a used R1T from Rivian, and found a Limestone Dual with a Max battery pack. It was a little higher in cost than I initially wanted to spend, but I realized that my initial goals were, perhaps, a bit unrealistic. In any case - I'm...
  9. R1S Collision Repair Ordeal

This sort of thing seems to be plaguing all sorts of vehicles, EV and otherwise. A good friend of mine who's a dedicated Jeep enthusiast has owned an older V-8 Grand Cherokee recently discovered their front rack is leaking. The Jeep dealership informed him that there are no parts in stock for...
  10. Moab trip charging experience

Any idea what sort of miles/kwh you were getting and at what speed you traveled? I'm considering towing a camper with an R1T at some point and am trying to get an idea of how far I'll be able to tow.
  11. Introductions & Welcome Thread 👋

Thank you - that is exactly what I needed to know. I'll reach out and see if the '23 is still available. It is even in my favorite color - forest green.
  12. Introductions & Welcome Thread 👋

Hello, all! I've been lurking and hoovering up knowledge on a Rivian R1T as a replacement for my Honda Ridgeline. I started looking at EV trucks with an interest in the Ford F-150 Lighting, but I do use my Ridgeline for commuting and shopping, and a full-sized truck can be a bit of a hassle to...
