The big thing for me right now is the 20s have far more tire options than the 21s. Rivian went with a stupid proprietary tire size again for the 21s, which is stupid to me on a mass market car.
I agree about not needing the gen3, but I also like the idea of future proofing. Case and point pool...
So I've been wavering on LE since announcement and keep going back and forth between LE and waiting for Gen3. Looking at it from cost, if I go LE, and then have to pay for 20" AT wheels (lets call that $2k) and LE green paint (lets say $1,000 even though that's low) we're looking at a pre-tax...

Between paying for launch color potentially and Rivian introducing another exclusive tire size for the 21” stock wheels (so expensive tires) I’m not that happy right now.
to your credit the Ars Technica article does talk about another optional body color and does say it’s included, just...
Yeah I just found a picture elsewhere confirming that size.
stupid f*cking decision for a mass market vehicle that’s supposed to be more budget friendly. Now I need to figure out if I can use my R1T 20s on the R2, but I’d imagine it won’t work.
How confident are we on that 255/55R21 tire sizing? Neither tire rack nor other random sites show anything in that size and I don’t want to get stuck with only one tire option again. That would suck and is unnecessarily expensive for what is supposed to be a mass consumer/affordable vehicle.
This is specifically concerning and under the LE options. It said paid upgrade under LE benefits. It doesn't say paid upgrade on Performance under Performance options/benefits. This section is specific to LE.
Taking my R1T back to stock over the next few months to prep for the R2. How much does Rivian look at the trade in, especially if its a Rivian? Taking off my sliders and not sure if the under body panels will all go back on where the sliders were. Do they look over it that carefully? They...
