I have the R1T and the motor sound is def. pronounced (my Tesla is silent) but only at low speed, as I approach 20+ it begins to go away and by 30 can't hear it at all really. This was same as the demo drive I did year before so I assume normal. Just adding for comparison.

Not quite, the filtering on the map does not get taken into account when planning a trip. You have to go into the trip setting, which appears when you add one, and THEN adjust networks etc. As I found out.

I was putting together a car play setup using an old ipad for wifes Tesla when i realozed that all she actully wants is to have Waze. I wonder how often when people say carplay they just mean a single app they use a lot and can be done via ipad mini and mount+ hotspot
