Is it really that hard to implement AA/CP. I don;t care either way, but most manufacturers can get CarPlay to work on pretty crappy infotainment displays. My son even has a USB dongle on his Nissan Frontier that allows CarPlay to work wirelessly to a cheap aftermarket radio.
Definitely overthinking a problem with this solution. Portable suitcase style solar panels and an inverter/battery setup, would be much more portable and adaptable than something like this if this .
If you have the Thule platform rack, they have a Rivian specific mount that uses the factory mount points. Thule will send you just the mounts if you already have the rack. I adapted the Thule platform rack from my wifes car and mounted it to the Rivian Cross bars using T-slot bolts.
I am not holding my breath on any substantial changes in the stock price after R2 release. I may buy / sell on some price fluctuation, but I am not counting on any big moves.
Like most, I have been holding Rivian at a loss for quite a while, but I continued buy/sell to average down from my...
When I was in high school, I had installed several bass speakers in my truck. A friend of mine told me to alternate the screw types (ie Phillips, Torx, Hex, etc..) when I screwed in the components and the speakers. He said if someone tried to steal them they would likely not have all of the...
41,000 miles and 12 service request, two of which were recall or technical service bulletin related and the first couple were body lines and wind noise related. I'd say that's pretty good for a 110xx vin Gen1 R1T. I'd do it all over again without a second thought.
My 2022 Gen 1 with 110xx Vin still has a fully functioning 1st generation powered tonneau cover. It has made a few weird noises every now and then and required recalibration a few times, but overall it has held up after 40,000 miles of opening and closing many times every week. Hopefully it...
Assuming you can see the Rivian integration in HACS, you should be able to go to settings, then devices and services and you can click add integration, you should see Rivian(Unofficial) in the list. Select it and you should be prompted during this step.
Tie-rod failures also lead to other major failures on a trail that can be difficult to repair, like the CV axles. Once the tie-rod breaks, the half shaft can exceed the rotational angle of the CV joint, causing it to grenade itself to pieces. So having a beefier tie-rod is usually the best first...
Try the Thule platform rack or similar system. Best pic I have of my setup, it's pretty low profile and I can move it to the top of the cab if I want. I started with the mounts from Thule, but I removed them and just use some t-slot bolts to fasten it to the Rivian cross bars.
I just found this thread. Home Assistant is by far the most versatile, well supported and easy to use open source home automation platform available. If you have any interest in Home Automation, it should absolutely be the base line to help you get started to control your home the way you want...
31 PSI on 20" ATs is very conservative, but I found the Pirelli's were a little soft compared to most AT tires I am used to. So probably why the conservative note from Rivian. I also think they are assuming rocks and other mixed terrain that require a lot of turning left and right, etc.. At the...
Wow, this brought back some memories. I remember spending endless amounts of time playing Leisure Suit Larry and Kings Quest on a TRS-80. My family owned a Radio Shack / True Value Hardware Store and I used to go there after school. I had access to all the latest computers and games and I took...
I have my Staun deflators set at 20 psi and I've never had issues on my R1T. When I used to use my other trail truck more often I had them set at 15 to 18 psi. It was also about 7,000 lbs, but on 38" tires and I never lost a bead, but both trucks run a much stiffer sidewall tire than the factory...
Agreed.
I am in no rush. I have an eco flow delta pro ultra inverter/battery backup and the eco flow smart home panel. It automatically switches to battery during an outage and I use a switching power supply to convert the 120v Rivian outlet to DC to re-charge my delta pro battery during long...
I am sorry your experience was so bad. My 22 R1T has been absolutely great since August of 2022 and my SC experience has also been great. Sure I have had some issues and each one took some time to get in and out of service, but overall the ownership experience has been great. After 3 years of...
