Ford literally emailed Bronco customers at the last minute just recently and said we have no idea when you will get your Bronco.
If Rivian did that the skeptics would have out the pitchforks in mass. Nothing will appease those people.
Answering questions requires having those answers. When they have those answers, and determine it is the right time to make them public, they will provide them.
You’re judging an entirely new and innovative service/experience after one day. Even if they ultimately fall short of their lofty...
That’s based on your personal opinion of what the guides should be doing/providing. How do you know this isn’t exactly as scripted?
I assure you RJ didn’t storm into the office last week and say, “ I don’t give a f$@! if we’re not ready, timf needs human contact and we need to give it to...
Your logic suggests you have knowledge that they could communicate better but are choosing not to. If you have such knowledge, perhaps you could communicate better?
The level of armchair quarterbacking on this forum is mind boggling. 99% of the “could” and “should” have’s should be edited with “I would have really liked” if’s. That is much more accurate, as the former reeks of narcissism and delusions of grandeur.
If I were running Rivian I’d be hesitant...
Hyundai has not released any more detail on range than Rivian. They provided an internally estimated range and said that EPA numbers won’t be out until later this year close to launch. The same is true for Ford.
There is no reason to have EPA range finalized and released until you are ready to...
Yes but not necessarily on the first call. I imagine these first guide calls will be nothing more than introductions followed by several more contacts before ordering.
I would use A Better Route Planner. Select the Audi e tron as the vehicle, but change the reference efficiency from 2.4 to 3.6 mi/kWh. This will effectively increase range from 200 to 300 miles.
Now route your trip and see what it says. the eTron is currently the most effective charging EV out...
The e tron weighs more than a Ram 1500 at like 5,700 lbs curb weight. Both Rivians are about 5,800lbs so pretty close.
Rivian has released their range estimates, it’s 300 miles. The EPA might be different, just like John Doe’s might be different.
I get 2.4-2.6mi/kWh at Highway speeds, which is an extrapolated range over 200 miles and equal to epa range. And that is for the least efficient EV on the market, as it was retrofitted from an existing platform.
I’m expecting the R1S to achieve similar efficiency, basically the offset of better...
Sounds like your experience is with Tesla. My experience (etron) is that stated range more or less equals Highway range (often I get more). That’s been true for most other modern evs and I expect the same from Rivian. It’s the only range that matters.
Of course that is a baseline of 75+ degree...
I’m personally waiting for Dave’s findings on range. He seems to know everything.
In all seriousness, if you are that sensitive to range, you’re making a bad decision. If routine trips would be anywhere close to 300 mi without available charging currently available, you should wait.
This is a fool’s errand. The guides should not be expected to answer any questions soon that are not public, like EPA range for example. They will likely be just slightly more informative than CS at this point.
Their existence is not to provide secrets, it’s more for post delivery than pre...
