I got the UHF Unavailable error after the vehicle was parked for 7 days. Reboot (soft & hard) didnāt fix it.
Turned out Autonomy+ was turned off (settings>vehicle>autonomy).
Not sure why, but could be that the vehicle had no cell signal for 7 days.
Side note: zero battery drain for the 7 days...
During a recent trip to Mammoth, went to this RAN three times and the charging speed was disappointing. Max speed was 120kw, but two other visits resulted in only 70kw Max. No other vehicles present and I tried several different stations.
Gave up after 15 minutes and went to the Tesla station...
Charged there today. Itās in the north lot (L1) across from Nike Store.
Rate is 55Ā¢ daytime (39Ā¢ for night owls). Non Rivian add ~10Ā¢.
3 NACS, 8 CCS.
So I paid $3000 for a paint color option, and $3000 for an interior color option, neither of which actually does anything.
So paying $2500 for Autonomy+, which actually does some stuff, is worth it in my opinion.
I can sum up my ownership experience with two words:
Frigginā awesome.
This thing pulls so hard it will make you giggle and scare the cr-p out of your passengers.
Passing trucks on a two-lane highway is like a video game.
Climbing steep mountains is effortless and you will pass everyone.
Itās...
Rivian offers trade-in service as a courtesy to those who wish to use it, but youāre under no obligation to do so and you can always sell your vehicle elsewhere.
And keep in mind that Rivian is not a used car dealer. They quickly resell your trade-in to a wholesaler who then sells the vehicle to...
My first visit there (failed radio) -good experience, 5-star rating.
1) got an an appointment just two days out
2) they diagnosed the problem remotely ahead of time and ordered the parts
3) work completed in less than an hour
4) they washed the vehicle
Overall Iād say this shop is āR2 Readyā
Iām a new quad owner - the power/torque are unbelievable. Climbs mountains effortlessly, passes 18-wheelers in an instant, and is a beast off the line.
You wonāt be disappointed.
As others have said- as long as itās āniceā to me, Iāll be nice to it and keep it long term. Or at least until something better comes along (if thatās even possible- Scout maybe?).
So far itās been friggnā awesome.
I have full-coverage PPF on all my cars and run them through the auto full-brush car wash. Never had a problem with scratches or PPF peeling/lifting etc. I also follow up with a sealer (CarPro Reload).
Iām running a 60 amp breaker in a 100 amp panel with no problems.
The charger is pulling 48 amps over 6 gauge wire with a length of 3 feet (Hard-wired). Never had any overheating problems.
If you are going to use a NEMA 14-50, then the max breaker size is 50 amps with the charger pulling 40...
Pickup at the PPF shop. Xpel Stealth on the gray (excuse me, āStorm Blueā), and clear on the black parts for contrast.
Protective Film Solutions does A+ work.
You might be a āRivianā person if:
1) you are a car enthusiast, like to accessorize/modify cars, like to figure out how cars work, like the car to be part of your life
2) you like computers and technology
If you just want a car to get in and drive and not think about, then maybe not.
my 2Ā¢
