R1S Front License Plate Holder recommendation

Hey -

Have R1S Launch that didn't come with a front license plate holder, so I've gone without. Need to buy one now, any recommendations on the best one that doesn't require drilling?

Snapplate. Easy on/off. Downside is you will see some of it in your camera views. Secure enough for normal use. Remember to remove if you're going to be fording bodies of water (or do it slowly). https://everyamp.com/products/snapplate-license-plate-mount-rivian-r1t-r1s

Alternatives, Brain Exploder or Built Right tow hook mounts. Won't show up in camera views, but you have to align it just right to not interfere the ultrasonic parking sensors. You also lose use of one tow hook with these.

None of these require drilling of the bumper.

I just took delivery of a 2026 R1S and it included a black plastic front license plate holder. We don't need to use them in AZ so you are welcome to it if you think it'll fit your truck. (It does require drilling though)

I had mine drilled at the service center at delivery. I figure they do a few every day so they know what they are doing. Mine is a vehicle for the road, not a show car. Yes I had a moment of cringe and have not looked back with regret.

I thought the same thing when I saw just 2 screws. Actually a plate fits on the front and there are lips on the top that the plate slides under and is held in by the 2 screws

I bought this flexible, DMV-approved plate-sticker. A little pricey at $137, but there's no drilling. After a year, only the top edge has a little ruffling, but otherwise it's been great. https://licenseplatewrap.com/

I did the tow hook unit, it requires a bit of hit & miss mounting to not block the sensors. In hind sight would buy the one DJ200 recomended. It's less than $50, and better.

All Rivians should have shipped with a front license plate holder. And when you went through the 7 step process to purchase there should have been a question about whether you wanted Rivian to mount it for you or not before delivery (for those states that require the front license plate). If you didn't want it mounted or you lived in a state that requires the front license plate, it should have been stored in the frunk in the cargo net or possibly under the floor of the frunk. Regardless, if you don't have one and don't want to drill, I would suggest a SnapPlate. That's what I've been using for >3 years, with no problems.

IF I were to install one-this would be it. To introduce adventure in my otherwise mundane life, I have been driving without one.

My OCD cringes about front plates. They are so damn ugly. Now if we only had Euro shaped plates they would look great on the Rivian.

Our vehicles are registered in Montana which requires a front plate. The law up here is more interested in drunk drivers and tweekers. So we just carry the front plate with us in case we get pulled over.

Recently sold our Grand Cherokee that didn't have a front plate but I had the bracket. The guys was driving from an hour away and asked if I would install it. I reluctantly drilled that front bumper and installed it. It was a sad moment for me

Snapplate is awesome. You can adjust the height so it shows up minimally in the front camera.
