Does anyone have an idea on break even costs? I'm asking because I was told EA has no plans for charging stations in Alaska due to our low population. So I'm guessing Rivian will not put anything up here either. I sure hope I'm wrong.
Since there are no current fast chargers on the main road system in Alaska I want them between Valdez and Anchorage, Valdez and Fairbanks, Fairbanks and Anchorage and Anchorage and Homer. :CWL:
I asked in chat today about the maximum weight the tonneau cover will hold. They did not have that information at this time and they do not recommend putting cargo on the tonneau cover.
Agreed, the issue is no charging in the winter. Summer has RV parks open that offer 50 amp plugs for a fee. I'm 306 miles from Anchorage and about 350 miles from Fairbanks. There is currently no reliable charging.
I'm still optimistic that the official number will be closer to 330 but I will not be surprised or disappointed if it is closer to 305. We have no charging infrastructure up here atm and my wife is giving me a hard time about $75k commuter vehicle. I make one really long trip a year (1k+ miles)...
I haven't decided yet, at the moment I'm still leaning on putting the truck in the garage. I'm in Valdez so if I keep it in the garage there is less snow to remove before I leave the house. My current truck does not really fit in my garage.
Has there been any information on winter problems with the tonneau cover? I'm thinking of freezing... etc. I emailed Rivian but never received a reply.
