interesting item to ponder... if you plan on driving 12,500 miles a year.... one could plant approximately 14 trees and the net impact on the environment from an CO2 emission standpoint would be zero.
If you plant 14/15 tress a year, technically you're doing more for the "climate crisis" than...
I'm in the market for a midsize pickup truck and the top of that list for me is the R1T and Tacoma... not really interested in any other, perhaps the Gladiator, due to resale alone (would sell or trade it after the factory warranty expires because I will never again be stuck with a jeep post...
The ICE I'm considering is a Tacoma which has a proven track record of being rock solid reliable. It would only require oil changes above and beyond what a Rivian would also need too (like tires, brakes etc...).... I considered that a wash since the Rivian will likely need some sort of...
I am curious if anyone has seen or heard any information on the type of warranty Rivian will offer and also what the design life and safety margin criteria were used during the engineering process.... These items may affect some people's purchasing decision for sure.
For instance I could...
Unfortunately I'm not in a place in life where I can buy simply based on want alone.... oh how I wish!... haha.
It needs to make financial sense or at least be close enough to justify the additional monthly expense an EV brings with it, given the premium price tag and not being able to afford...
So I edited the suggested google sheet and did a quick comparison between a R1T and a Tacoma.... and it's not pretty, even making assumptions in the R1T's favor...
I need to seriously rethink the practicality of this purchase before committing to my pre-order.
I'm hoping someone can point...
Does anyone know a good online comparison calculator that lets the user edit the inputs to see where the break-even point is during ownership, if there is one financially?
I am working on one in excel in my spare time, but if a good one already exists, no point..
thank you.
Love to tinker in the garage and be outdoors in general (fishing, golfing, hiking etc...). Have owned 18 motorcycles and 14 vehicles the past 24 years although the pace has slowed considerably since getting married 6 years ago, and that's a good thing for a lot of reasons, mostly safety and...
I doubt there is any way conventional aftermarket bumpers would work with this vehicle... it's not a typical BOF construction plus as soon as you bolt that crap on (assuming it's possible) you're range would drop dramatically due to weight and wind resistance, not to mention probably losing on...
You said "tank mode".... love it... will probably eat tires like no ones business (and destroy some undercarriage suspension/steering components) if the surface isn't wet or loose gravel... can't wait to see the videos of tank mode... not sure what application it would have other than...
I could see an Amazon van showing up to tow away a Rivian for warranty repair/ work... at one of their distribution/ fullfillment centers... It would be a way for Amazon to make back some of their investment seed money by providing a delivery service and it'd be a win win for both companies when...
I believe Musk's entire portfolio is about Space exploration and colonization of other planets... the fact that some like Tesla, The Boring Company (and soon to be Tesla Solar Roofs) are producing revenue on Earth is a bonus... the companies help subsidize the R&D investment for his Space X...
Lots of good ideas here... I'd like to see the following since we're talking a premium price point vehicle...
- An interior noise dba rating of < than 55dba @ 70 mph standard. <55 dba would be awesome (if they could achieve this at 70 mph) and I'd be willing to pay extra for it.
- Sensors that...
I've always loved a dark green metallic color (very few 4x4's available in this color range though...).
I also think it'd be neat to offer a bare aluminum finish (only on the exterior... the interior and underside of course would be painted black), kind of like an airstream, it can look...
