**** BIG UPDATE, for NE Florida****
It's official - New Rivian Service & Demo center coming to World Golf Village area in St. Johns County. Rivian "St. Augustine" location planned to open in early 2026.
Take a look at this Jacksonville Daily Record Article from 06/25/2025.
I'm guessing this is from the last update (currently on v2025.18.1), but I've been noticing that my Rivian has become a deep sleeper at home.
I used to hear some clicks and see the puddle lights come on the moment I set foot into my garage, but not any more. Nowadays, my Rivian likes to sleep...
I'm spitballing Lancia Delta retro rally inspired wraps... Not sure I want to go all the way with logos plastered all over it, but I think the white wheels and colored racing stripes might need to happen.
I don't have a link to the press release I read last week.
I didn't read anything indicating that the driver was being charged... I was just responding based on the title of this thread vs. what I had read last week.
I figured it might be too soon for them to have vehicle data... I'd assume that in this case Rivian would want the authorities to have this info ASAP (particularly if that data shows that there was no fault by the vehicle itself), but surely there is a process by which a police investigation is...
So the driver is now responsible... The local PD issued a press release on Friday indicating that this was a tragic accident and the driver was not being cited.
I wonder what changed the narrative?
Eyewitnesses? Driver confession? Video Footage?
I like the yellow stripe. I saw this blacked-out, de-lettered and mat wrapped R1S with a yellow side stripe when I was on charging on a road trip through North Central Florida a couple weeks back.
On-screen SMS alerts/integration. I don't need carplay, but it kills me that I miss all of my text messages when I'm driving.
It's also super annoying that my "high tech" $100k electric SUV doesn't have the same basic connectivity that my 17 year old daughter enjoys in Grammy's, old...
I was afraid that I was going to mess up my R1S by constantly pulling the plug out when the charge port is green (instead of white) after a complete charge, but if that's what everyone else is seeing I'll move on. It seems a bit much with my wife and I get notifications on the app every time I...
Did you know that you can always tell someone is a Rivian driver because their right shoulder is slightly lower than their left?
It's because the door arm rest is approximately .3" higher than the arm rest on the center console. You're all in luck though, I'm selling 3D printed elbow shims...
Anyone else in this boat?
When I am charging my R1S and and need to interrupt the charging session, I am able to STOP charging a number of ways, either by clicking "stop charging" on my dashboard, or the app, or if I click the release lever on my charger's "Nozzle," my Rivian stops charging...
Slate is bringing the kind of customizability that Cannoo (RIP) might have offered or that I had hoped Scout would bring. With a Skateboard chassis there is really limitless amount of customization that can be offered If you have the capacity to build (or open source) modular components. I'm...
The Service Centers can't keep up with the demand. I've had fairly pleasant experiences up until my most recent visit, although I'd prefer not having to make the 300 mile round-trip drive every time Rivian decides they want to fix something. I also noticed that the "planned" SC for NE...
As a former Tacoma/4Runner guy, I also appreciate the McFly vibes.
Looks cool, but based on the location of the aux lights, I am a bit concerned about what percentage of that light will spill into cabin via the glass roof and how much of it will actually be focused in front of your truck.
Good lord, I wish R2 had "ride height" as pictured in the patent drawings - One of my favorite things about my R1S, but I'm pretty sure the variable height air suspension was the first to go when they were trying to make a more affordable vehicle.
Has this changed for 2025?
I just got a Tesla newsletter (email) indicating that IIHS ranks Cybertruck :
"The Safest of Any Truck Tested"
"With the lowest overall probability of injury of any pickup truck tested by NHTSA, Cybertruck is designed to be the safest truck you can drive."
Sooooo, I dropped off may R1S for my 12v battery service as well as a High Voltage Battery issue. I was already on the docket for a complete HV battery replacement, so no surprises and all of the labor came to 8.5hrs, so I anticipated that it would take them a few days. I get to the Orlando SC...
Heard rumors about a St. Johns location off of I95 (same exit as Buc-ee's). 20 minutes away sure beats 150 miles to Orlando. I'm going on my 3rd service visit in less than a year next week. At 300 miles per round trip I hope these service center visits can be deducted from my lease milage...
Rago has been in the mix with the Overlanding and 4-Runner community for many years and has a decent rep there. I've considered many of their products for my previous SUV, a lifted Toyota 4Runner, but I ended up going with Victory 4x4 for my roof rack and ladder, mainly for aesthetics. I don't...
