I'm guessing you're not close to a Rivian Space. If that's the case, and if this is really important to you, I would say you need to book a test drive at a nearby service center, and actually use that time to bend someone's ear in person.
As mentioned in this thread, if a car is equipped with CarPlay (and/or AA), there is always the option to not use it. What if the use doesn't have a smart phone? So, it seems like Rivian (and any auto mfg) must always fully develop their infotainment system, unless they decide to hand it all...
Like Porsche didn't (at least not yet). Not the Gen 2 Taycan, not the new Macan EV, and not the new Hybrid 911.

Hard wired is my recommendation, but this is not an either/or decision. If you want complete flexibility, just have the electrician wire a NEMA 14/50 to the same circuit as your hardwired EVSE (will likely require a junction box or a small sub panel - I am not an electrician). You could enjoy...
If you're asking about what sort of L2 charger to use at home...
I believe that many people have suggested getting a 60amp circuit installed (so you can charge at 48amps) and get the Tesla Universal Wall Connector hard wired to that circuit.
The Universal Wall Connector has a NACS connector...
I've been looking around, but can't seem to find a good video review of the Gen 2 R1S from a standalone perspective. I'm not so much concerned about what has changed - that's been very well documented. Anyone seen anything?
As I noted earlier in the thread, I did not get the agreement to sign until 2 hours after the check had been delivered to Rivian Financial Services. I think it’s interesting that people are saying “read the doc”, which didn’t arrive until the check had already been delivered. The doc cames...
Wow. Sun Prarie. Now there’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time (spent 18 months in Horicon in the early 2000’s). Great memories from the area.
I’m so happy that you feel comfortable throwing several additional thousand dollars to Rivian, when you just handed them the several thousand dollars, when they refuse to help do anything about where the first several thousand dollars went. You just keep throwing more money at a problem and...
Additionally, you did get me to wondering about “how did I miss that?”. It might be because that documention notification from Rivian Financial Services arrived after the certified check had already been delivered to Rivian Financial Services. I sent the check via FedEx on Monday to Rivian...
It would have cost me thousands of dollars for the 90 days it takes to get your money back from a stop payment on a certified check, if Rivian Financial Services had not already deposited the check before I put the stop payment in. If RFS had already deposited the check (and I’m still waiting...
You forgot the really important part: the EXPENSIVE part of the problem, costing me an additional several thousand dollars, with NO offer of help from Rivian in locating (much less using) the several thousand dollars they already had in hand.
You really confirm that you have the same reading comprehension problem. Guess what else it says about that address:

That is NOT the address my check would go to, as I live in Alabama and...
1 - You mean the email from RIVIAN FINANCIAL SERVICES? No such info was included for Alabama residents (Alabama residents are stuck with an entirely different payment process)
2 - I called RIVIAN FINANCIAL SERVICES (as I was directed to do BY RIVIAN). When you call the number (844-868-2143)...
It is "easy", but without the uncashed check, it takes 90 days. Rivian wanted me to send them another several thousand dollars (wire, ACH, certified check) in order to take delivery. Even though they created the problem, Rivian LLC would not call Rivian Financial, locate the check, and make...
