I have an R1S Performance Dual w/max pack. The OEM tires are HL275/ 50R22 116H XL Pirelli Scorpion MS. I purchased and installed All-terrain Falken WildPeak A/T4W 119/116S 275/60/20 tires.
Using the tiresize.com calculator, I came up with the following. Can someone confirm that they...
Thank you for your clear explanation! This topic has left me confused until now. One more question...what would happen if I used my Lectron J1772 adapter at a supercharging station? Will it cause damage or is it just a matter of limited charging speed? Thanks!
I’m no audiophile so I can’t really comment on this concept of speakers “breaking in.” But what I think is happenjng is that our ears are getting used to shitty sound. Just get into a Tesla and listen to anything to “QC” your ears.
Hard to say. Here are a couple of scenarios:
1. You get the premium with the hope that someday Rivian figures out how to make it sound decent.
2. You get the standard and upgrade the system yourself hoping that Rivian’s software updates don’t make it sound even worse.
3. Get the premium and...
So following up on my service appointment over the weekend, but some background first: I have a Tesla Model 3 to which I'm comparing the sound. My Rivian is a 2025 R1S with "premium" sound.
The service tech was great and made a sincere effort to fix the problem. He did not show an interest...
Gen 2 RIS with premium sound here. I totally agree. My Tesla’s sound system kicks the shit out of Rivian’s. This is with both on flat EQ settings, AND on Tesla’s EQ all they way down against Rivian’s “optimized.” I’m thinking of replacing the entire system, but I’m concerned that future...
Rivian would be wise to fire the imbecile they’ve got running this department and pay you two a few million each to fix this shit. For $80-$100k, I should be able to sit my ass in the car and enjoy an amazing sound system without having to learn about all of this. It’s completely unacceptable...
I don’t know what a “good mix” or “bad mix” means. All I know is that the music in my Tesla has sounded amazing for the past 5 years, no matter what I’m playing. And that the music in the Rivian sounds unbearably bad.
Misery really does love company. Thank you for sharing. I've been dealing with exactly the same issues in my R1S (2025 Gen2 w/premium sound and updates installed). I've tried all the various equalizer settings shown in this thread, and then some. Makes no difference and it's not even close...
I picked up my Gen 2 R1S Dual Max Performance with premium sound last weekend. It drives well and I have no complaints about the purchase experience. My one complaint is the sound system which is complete trash (yes with the latest update installed). If you are switching from a top-notch...
That’s what I’m noting as well. Although I dont know what it sounded like before because the update was already installed when I bought it on Saturday.
