Two things I will mention about my cover that arrived about a month ago. Had the cover installed and was parked for 30 minutes in a hot Salt Lake City sun. 98 degrees out and needed to remove the cover to load 500 pounds of concrete floor leveler. The cover was only a few days old and I...
My wheels are finished so now I'm down to deciding what tires to buy. I have narrowed the choice to two. WildPeaks or Goodrich KO2s. I have the KO2s on my Sprinter van camper and have been happy with them but I do lose mileage when I have them on the van. They are slightly larger diameter...
If my Ram caps don't work I will buy new caps. There is a link in the first post on this thread. $24 on Amazon. I cleaned all the wheels with simple green and a red scotch brite pad. Then I wire brushed them using an angle grinder and wire wheel. I had lots of areas, under the bead and...
What paint are you using? I sprayed the one wheel with Dupli-color wheel paint. The spray tip was really bad. Failed after about 1/2 a can. The spray job does not look great. I ordered Rust-Oleum wheel paint from Amazon. Should be here next week. I could not find it locally. It was...
I took one out and had a tire store test it. they told me it was not transmitting. It took about an hour to get it out because they are not easily removed and I was trying to be carful to not damage it. You have to pull them out and it was not easy. I may have damage it when I removed it but...
My 2012 Dodge TPMS senders had dead batteries. I replaced with new senders. One wheel complete. 3 to go. I'm too cheap to buy new center caps so I painted the ones that came with the wheels. I now call the truck a Rivian GOAT. Still have not decided on tires.
Very wise, I wish I could develop that mind set. Too many tools and a work shop that is too big to allow it to go idle. Plus, it would take me longer to drop the wheels off and pick them up then to just do it myself. That's my argument for tire rotations and oil changes too......wait !! No...
Lots of YouTube videos on how to prep the wheels. I spent an hour today doing one wheel but it was the worst of the 4. I have lots of different mechanical, electric, pneumatic, and hand tools to do the job. I expect about 4 or 5 more hours to prep all wheels. the prep is 90% of the work. I'm...
Thanks. I was quoted 500 but a friend who owns a body shop told me to just rattle can them. If they are prepared properly they will look just as good and if they get scraped up it’s an easy fix. If I don’t like It I can do powder coat.
For me, I'm using the 20" wheel to replace 21" wheels in the winter since there are no 21 inch tires in a dedicated snow tire. I'm not swapping 20s for 20s.
I live in Park City so winters are long and cold with lots of snow. I have always had two sets of tires for my cars and use a dedicated snow tire in the winter. With all my cars I lose about 15% of my mileage when I switch to the snow tires. But, I never worry about driving in blizzard...
I picked up the Dodge wheels yesterday and spent a few hours cleaning them up. The tires are junk so I'm taking them off tomorrow. The rims look very nice when cleaned. I was going to have them powder coated but I think I will just use them as is. I ordered the centering rings and TPMS so...
Won’t see the tires until I pick them up. They have TPMS valves in them but don’t know it they are compatible. It’s a two hour drive there to pick them up so not sure when I can get them. I will order the rings today. The wheels are in good shape. Just some scratches in the paint.
I found a set of Dodge wheels. It took some time and research and I discovered a few facts along the way. I was looking for a number 2363 on the rim but could never find that number on any of the wheels I found. The number on the rims will be stamped with a 1DZ12TRMAB. The number 2363 is...
