I took delivery of my R1S on 9/16/23, filed an amended 2022 tax return via Turbo Tax on 9/24/23, and received an electronic deposit for the $7,500 plus about $250 in interest into to my checking account yesterday, on 10/12/23. That was 18 days from filing to receipt of the refund - very happy...
Great article, and it makes a lot of sense. Truck stops make as much money - probably more - on the non-fuel ancillary goods and services that people buy when they make a stop. Having a captive audience for 30 to 45 minutes while an EV is being recharged to get lunch or buy snacks or buy a...
As someone who is picking up his long-awaited R1S on Saturday and who just happened to see two S's and one T in no more than 75 seconds today while out doing errands, I've gotta say that the pictures you see online just don't do it justice. In person, walking up close to an R1S in a parking...
Ah yes, I just heard from my guide, and she said that my odometer reading won't be a problem at all. So 3,000 is the official number, even though they originally asked me to keep mileage under 1,000.
Thanks. I agree; I'm going with the 3,000 miles stated in the contract for now. Unfortunately, my guide hasn't responded to either an email and a text.
Interesting! Thanks for pointing that out. My agreement has that exact same 3,000 mile figure. I could have sworn when I submitted the trade-in info, though, that they said my quote was good for 1,000 miles. I can't find that anywhere.
Thanks. I realize that, so ultimately I guess what I'm trying to figure out is if there is a way to make this adjustment in advance, so I can be prepared with an adjusted amount on the cashier's check I plan to give Rivian on Saturday. I can't make the adjustment through the 8-step process, as...
Hi. We are scheduled to pick up our R1S on Saturday. I have a question about our trade-in (I've sent an email to my guide, but as usual she has proven very slow to respond). When I submitted the trade-in info a month ago, I got what I thought was a very fair offer (i.e., more than I thought...
I haven't been following this thread, but just an fyi that car insurance rates generally are increasing dramatically for all vehicles, not just Rivians. The cost to repair all cars has increased significantly the past two years, due to parts shortages, people shortages, etc. So car insurers...
I've been following this thread with interest, although it is a bit difficult for me to understand, as I don't own my R1S yet (I hope to be a proud owner in 10 days or so). When I do own it, I'm going to make darned sure I fully understand how to secure the tailgate and lift gate.
I personally think that the Cybertruck is just about the most hideous-looking vehicle I have ever laid my eyes on. It'll either be Musk's greatest folly after Twitter, or it will prove once and for all his mad scientist genius. That latter would only happen if the Cybertruck convinces a large...
No offense, R1S Man, but what I ultimately hope is that you were so friggin' excited to show your wife the R1S's amazing horsepower that you forgot both to close the back and didn't notice the warning indicators flashing and/or making noise telling you that the back was open when you floored it...
Really sorry to hear that, R1S Man. I agree that is unacceptable. I hope that it was a faulty sensor issue that did not appropriately alert you to a rear door that was not fully latched rather than a fault in the rear doors themselves.
As someone who will have his very first EV (an R1S) hopefully within two weeks, so I don't have any experience with the charging network yet. But relative to the security of credit card numbers, I would hope that the charging networks are set up to accept systems such as ApplePay, by which the...
I got a text from the South San Francisco SC today saying that my R1S is on the way with a 1 to 3 week estimate before they get it. After a 2 ½ year wait, I can’t wait to get it! I’m a little bummed on the timing…I go camping the week after Labor Day every year with my brother and 6 friends of...
I have a brother who works for Lucid Air. I don't really consider Lucid to be a Rivian competitor, as the two companies are going after two different markets. My brother was telling me recently that Lucid is offering compelling discounts to its employees. He's not really interested...
