Honestly, if I had not seen some of the work done by PDR magicians on this website, I would have likely been staring down an expensive quote for cut/mend/paint on the right/rear quarter of my R1T. The bruise on mine looked like this:

Look at how Chevrolet handled the exact same situation with the 2022+ BOLT EV. Same regs, and I suspect it'll be solved the same basic way. Brake lights down below + high mounted brake light in the glass.

For that to work, I did drill into the lower HVAC console and drilled small holes into the Android thing. The mounting worked fine, but after a few weeks, I relocated it above the central display using the 1EV bracket.

JFC. I couldn't care less. I get in my R1T everyday, and it gets me where I want to go (physically, spiritually, and happily).
GM absolutely pucked the fooch on their launch of the Blazer EV. Rivian will be fine.
I got my EV1 display yesterday. I have been fluffing around with a hinge-based mounting under the HVAC while using a cheapo-Amazon version of the same screen.
So here's the deal: don't screw around with cheapo Amazon versions. Get the 1EV version. The integration via BT actually works...
Have not driven at night yet; but it'll be dark when I head home from the office this evening, and I'll see how it goes. On a related note, you look out the rear window? I trust my cameras 99%. The last 1% I'll trust my insurance.
