I don't want to give specifics, but his job entailed design quality which covered both current and new designs. Not one of the "cut the fat" positions if you ask me. Decently high up too so I think all levels were affected by this.
Friend of mine that's been at Rivian for seven years just got laid off as part of the cuts. Terrible situation to be in. Seems the cuts are happening right now. The sad part is that I'm driving an R1S right now because he let me drive his R1T. Not sure I'd even have one if it wasn't for him.
I...
Yup, and stock tanks as a result. I think Rivian's guidance has always been to under promise. Obviously this isn't going to be a banner year with interest rates the way they are, but I bet their real internal estimate is more than a duplicate of last year.
The layoffs are concerning though, but...
Looks like the end of a steel mandrel from the rivet. Likely the rivet may be aluminum or coated, but the mandrel may have been standard steel? The others don't look as bad and the one with no mandrel looks fine. I'd spray some anti-corrosion spray into the openings and not really worry about it.
This is an odd one that I can't seem to find any answers for by searching as anything involving a loose steering wheel involves the recall last year.
Anyway, I have easy exit/entry on. When I enter the vehicle and the steering wheel is done extending, if I grab it and pull down or put any force...
I think any PPF is absolutely worth it. Think how many chips or dings you would have had without it. Of course, major damage will always get through, but you at least stand a chance of saving your paint most of the time. I'd rather replace a panel of PPF than have anything repainted with an...
For a lemon, you need to be in for the same problem a few times. I know the service is slow, but give them a chance to make everything right. I feel like the initial quality concerns can be the worst, but most people seem to have smooth sailing after service fixes and shortcomings from the build...
My Jeep does just fine. Look at it this way, fording through 3ft of water and some getting in the door briefly during a crossing is better than it staying in the door for days.
PG&E is doing their damnest to eliminate any incentive to get solar or an EV in California. It’s super frustrating.
fortunately, I can charge at work which has basically eliminated my gas bill. However, financially speaking, I made a poor decision buying any ev as my paid off pathfinder cost...
I did not know this. Thanks for clarifying. I was under the impression that they followed through with their larger pack claim but I dug up this article on your prompt: https://insideevs.com/news/690068/rivian-max-pack-battery-capacity/amp/
Since they were only offering it with dual motor I...
The same way I configured it now. Quad with large pack.
Longer warranty, range is excellent in conserve mode, speed and all the benefits that come with having four motors.
I considered the dual max for a second but, realistically, if you're driving a long distance, what are the odds the extra...
Most of the issues are because they're using PVC or PUR to cover the wheel which does not like being stretched into shapes as complicated as a steering wheel as the material cannot shrink into itself, causing the lumps and bumps you see. The ultimate material is leather and unless you have your...
