My comment was towards Ford's investment in Rivian not the f-150 Rivian has been using as a body to test the platform. My comment has no reference to the Ford f-150. I used the Ranger as an example as to what may be on a Rivian platform in the future. As I said Ford isn't handing Rivian 500...
I don't like any roof that has to be opened. I never bother with them. I've had too many and will not pay for any more. My 911 has a metal roof. Sales tried to push a panoramic glass roof, even a metal one. I did a build order. You will never find a deleted panoramic roof on a new build on the...
The way these events are set up it seems like a big waste of time and effort. I'm expecting a hands on and a test drive without distractions some time this year in Wickenburg AZ. I hope they will get serious before trying to deliver product.
Rivian brought out their website at the time of the release on the vehicle to recieve deposits. They have had plenty of time to improve on the site. This may not happen until build orders are taken. I hope they don't wait that long.
I for one have had sliding roofs on many cars and will not have another. Usually forget they are there and just find them a problem waiting to happen. Why have a hepa filter in a car and throw open the roof. Maybe i;m not the norm but rarely open a window.
I have to question how the Rvian employee closes the passenger door. Not the typical closing that we all do when we exit a vehicle. He pushes the door a little to close and then gives it a push with both hands as if it is difficult to catch. Lets hope there is just a simple issue with the prototype.
Once the first Rivian hits the streets all of these silly ideas will disappear and we will focus on all of the problems Rivian needs to correct as anyone that follows Tesla forum will a test to.
Ford just announced 7000 layoffs and is going to focus on Autonomous driving and electric. With Rivian's platform on the refreshed Ranger things will get real interesting. The F150 is too big for my needs.I'm still leaning to the R1T.
The more Rivian tries to promote the R1T as a camper the more turned off I"m getting about the truck. There are many choices out there for a COMFORTABLE small camper without range anxiety. Still a reservation holder of over 6 months.
