Taxes and fees are based on the address at which you register the vehicle. in some states, registering a car elsewhere in order to avoid your own state’s taxes and fees is a crime.

I purchased a dual motor R1T last week. Nationwide via Rivian quoted $2050 for 6 months w/$1000 deductible. Hard Pass. State Farm quoted $930 with a $500 deductible.

That is correct. MSRP including vehicle plus options, but not including destination charges, must be under $80,000 to qualify. The R1T DM in silver is $79,000 and thus the only Rivian that can qualify. Both the fed and the state of CO use the $80,000 limit.

I'm in Denver and did a deposit in July. My thinking was I'd buy IF the price before delivery charges was under $80,000 and thus eligible for significant tax credits in my home state of Colorado.
