  1. R1T breakdown while towing - repair follow-up cause: coolant line bursted/broke, causing battery overheat

Well, to catch you up this happened last week: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/towing-7000-lbs-27-trailer-130miles-3500ft-elevation-change.6294/page-2#post-168187 Basically, from what I'm told a coolant line bursted/broke, which caused battery overheating and the truck inability to...
  2. Towing 7000 lbs 27' Trailer, ~ 130miles 3500ft Elevation Change

I have AAA, but because it was a warranty issue and they didn't want me to move it I was stuck. Hindsight I should have just did what i needed to do to get my trailer, leave the truck and let them deal with it.. If I were to call AAA I could have been out of there in an hour. For whatever reason...
  3. Towing 7000 lbs 27' Trailer, ~ 130miles 3500ft Elevation Change

Latest update. Spent about 4 hours on i5 waiting for Rivian to get a tow company. Finally got a tow, took it to my house and tomorrow, it goes to west Sac for repair ( three days later) The truck definitely lost some type of cooling fluid or coolant. It was dripping something out of the front...
  4. Towing 7000 lbs 27' Trailer, ~ 130miles 3500ft Elevation Change

1700... 1000 of those miles has been towing something.. boat, jet skis, dock, tracktor, trailer, dump trailer, car, flatbed. I'm using it like my old truck .. not hard, just using it like a truck.
  5. Towing 7000 lbs 27' Trailer, ~ 130miles 3500ft Elevation Change

Tried that too. 12v seems to be ok. The truck locks and unlocks ok, but main screens don't boot up.. bricked.
  6. Towing 7000 lbs 27' Trailer, ~ 130miles 3500ft Elevation Change

Well, sadly the R1T didn't make it home.. Major failures coming home down the moutain out of Anderson in 100 deg Temps. First low battery voltage failure, then low coolant warning, battery warm warning and then the truck went Into an emergency shutdown procedure and I couldn't get off the...
  7. TT-30 Adapter Plug Charging Adventures

So, I'm having this same issue.. can't get a tt30 to 14-50 adapter to charge the R1t. Seems like the best solution is ditch the Rivian Mobil connector, buy a Tesla Mobil adapter and tt-30 connector, and use a Lectron Tesla to J1772.. Sad but is that the best way to do it right now until Rivian...
  8. Towing 7000 lbs 27' Trailer, ~ 130miles 3500ft Elevation Change

I bought a 14-50 to 30 amp adapter but the rivian won't except it. It seems like it is expecting 240v. I think I'll need a native Rivian adapter to plug into a 120/30amp, which doesn't look like they sell yet? Luckily my in-laws site has a 14-50, so charging the truck at thier site. I would be...
  9. Rivian Not Cutting It - In Depth

He just wants to move up the line :) But, if the CT has 500+milles of range, access to the "effortless" Tesla SC network, but looks wierd as sh!t, I won't care.. I'll sell you my R1T. I just need a capable truck.
  10. Towing 7000 lbs 27' Trailer, ~ 130miles 3500ft Elevation Change

I wanted to start a thread for our week camping trip. Traveling with family and two other similar trailers (funny thing is mine is the heaviest by far) Distance: Chico to Lake of the Siskyous ~130 miles Elevation Change : ~3500' ft To get these numbers I've driven a bit on the highway on...
  11. Rivian Not Cutting It - In Depth

I'm being a bit winey. I should add, it's better than the alternative...
  12. Rivian Not Cutting It - In Depth

Agree with your other points, but I'll just add the EA charging issue is the EXACT issue I had as well. So seems like it WAS a Rivian thing. So hoping for an update.. How do I do that? Also, they pony'd up money for thier own R1T, not saying it's not for the clicks but you can't tell me other...
  13. Rivian Not Cutting It - In Depth

Their argument regarding lack of charging infrastructure is pretty much on point. It's an EV problem, not necessarily a Rivian problem. Tesla just did it right, to their credit. I went through the exact situation just two nights ago dealing with DCFast Charging not working on the R1T. I looked...
  14. Did they change the wood in Ocean Coast interior?

Saw the Ocean coast first hand. The wood is way to whitewashed/painted. Bummer because other than that it's gorgeous. It needs the darker natural wood grain to balance it out. If I still take delivery I'll be changing to black. I really wanted Blue with the Ocean Coast interior with the...
