I can't leave my house because of all of the vehicles belching smoke from all of the oil burning from these high polluters. All of the poor people coming up from our southern border will be a blessing for the future of electric vehicles.
Thank you for the info kumarczar. Maybe you can be our inside reporter and look through a few windows. A cat burglar with a camera. I am for sure waiting with baited breath to get some progress reports.
I would love to see the Rivian but the event isn't for me. Will be very busy I'm sure and rightly so. I would expect to be squeezed in with many people and surely another roped off viewing. Just a 2 hour drive for me. Maybe some time we will get a chance to see the vehicles without being linked...
I've owned many Mercedes vehicles over many years. I'm not interested in the Rivian for pretentious service. I want the R1T for no service an hopefully not to have a need for much. My last service for my 2017 C300 was serviced by a shop of ex Mercedes techs and I had to find coffee else where...
The clean escape was many months ago. Rivian is wearing the adventure aspect a little thin. OK I get it now lets move on to every day use and all other aspects of what this vehicle will do for the average driver that will not put too much dust on it. A little cramped for over night sleep ins.
Elon Musk made a strong statement about the uselessness of Lidar. Rivian appears to be a strong believer in the system along with other systems for their self driving features. I wonder how Rivian feels about Musk's negative views of lidar.
My main interest is in the R1T but the R1S is 17 inches shorter and appears to have more volume in storage space especially with folding down the back seats and not having the third row.
I would hope that the rear seats of the R1T will fold down and believe they will. Not a big issue to do that. I believe they will fold up except for the 180 KWH version because of space needed for the largest battery pack. As you I like the idea of protecting the seats as I really won't use the...
I've had two full size Chevy trucks with short beds and an El Camino. The Rivian is shorter than those but my needs have changed and I will welcome the Rivian bed size. For many even the long bed on a standard truck will be too short at times.
This news out on the Audi E-Tron. Rivian please don't disappoint us with under performing batteries.
Audi e-tron electric SUV gets 204 miles EPA rating, deliveries start in the US next month
These extras to turn the R1T into a camper is a little over the top. I'm interested in an electric R1T and have a deposit on one but if my needs were to be off road adventuring I would have to go in a different direction.
