I have three different manual tire pressure gauges. They all read very close to each other. The TPS readings on my present R1T (21” tires) consistently run 3 pounds less than the manual gauges. My prior R1T had 20” AT tires and the readings were similar. I live at 7,000 feet and garage the...
My present DM R1T (4,000 miles) is absolutely quiet. My prior LE QM began to develop a number of significant front drive line noises at 3,000 miles. A big difference between the two vehicles.
I too noticed the cold weather phenomenon with my QM R1T. My theory is the colder the temperature the thicker the lube which reduces the play/gear lash. Of course Spring ultimately returns with higher temperatures and you are right back where you started.
The big differences I noticed between my previous QM and my present DM are that the Rock Climbing and Sport modes were eliminated and the DM has what are in essence differentials front and rear to connect the two motors to the wheels. Major redesigns. A much simpler vehicle which drove my...
My Kia Sportage Hybrid does the same thing. Resets to Economy Mode each time you turn it off. Very annoying especially during the winter when you want to leave it in Snow Mode.
My first R1T was a LE QM and at around 3,000 miles started having the same problems. Apparently the vehicle could not withstand the torturous driving on paved roads back and forth to the store. Over the next 8,000 miles went through the bandaid repairs (lube and tighten bolts, new washers...
Data Analytics is found in the Systems window under Data and Privacy. I did not keep track of my drain previously, just a casual observation. After three days no drain but when I checked this evening it initially showed a 1% drop but quickly changed back to no loss.
Like others I have been following the VD threads for some time. I generally do not see information about the features owners have activated or deactivated on their Rivian’s just a percentage loss over a given period of time. I wonder if the features activated might be part of the problem. I...
Rivian’s Bluetooth is not compatible with SXM’s Bluetooth. At the moment the only installation method is with the FM adapter. When Rivian eliminated the under dash power outlet the installation became much more difficult. Here is a photo of my installation. The SXM antenna is centered on the...
To bring some clarity to this discussion it would be helpful if the type of Rivian were mentioned ie Generation, model, quad, tri, dual motor. There seems to be different design issues hence type of attempted repairs.
For those of you with this problem I would suggest the following. Jack the driver’s side front tire off the ground and rotate it to the left and then to the right several times while having someone video it. Most likely it will sound like a traditional driveshaft which has a universal joint that...
My first R1T was a LE QM. Continuing problems with the front drive units and half shafts. Gave Rivian several opportunities to repair under warranty. Told them the third attempt would be the last. Repair failed. Demanded a replacement vehicle. They ghosted me and did not respond for a couple of...
When Rivian says it is “normal” they are really saying it is operating as designed. My LE QM R1T started making the same noises at 3,000 miles and notwithstanding multiple “repairs” only got worse over time. Ultimately, at 12,000 miles, the subframe and front drive unit were replaced all to no...
