I figured I didn't have to considering it's a widely known, readily available fact that anyone could verify for themselves by googling for 3 seconds ?

Definitely a good idea if you're leaving it unplugged from the main charger for long periods of time. Otherwise, a direct 12V trickle charger should only be useful if the vehicle's onboard hardware/software is malfunctioning in which case you're better off taking it in for service and getting...
Also, regardless of voltage the electrical subsystem still needs a separate battery to remain functional while disconnected from the main battery (for safety reasons, as mentioned above) so 12v/24v/48v doesn't matter - that battery is getting charged by mains and if the charging system has...
Emme Hall ran the 2020 Rebelle Rally in a pre-production R1T and reported getting 167 miles per charge running 38 psi with climate control off, dropping as low as 50 miles per charge in dunes running 22 psi. They had about 600 lbs of extra gear, a large pack batter with less capacity available...
Not as smart as just staying on the sidelines ?
Buying puts makes sense, collaring it with shares and covered calls doesn't *in these conditions*. Play around with it on an options calculator, the strategy is basically guaranteed to lose money in a steadily declining market. Right now you're...
I don't think many people would advocate a collar on weeklies with skewed downside spread in a steadily declining market, but I've been wrong before.
Now, a GREAT strategy for this kind of market is naked calls and long puts. Of course, that's also a great way to lose everything and more when...
Yeah but you're picking up pennies in front of a steamroller. 17% OTM puts on $30 shares provides catastrophic protection while still allowing for some pretty steep losses. Assuming you're playing monthlies you're risking all that for what, max 10-15% gains, in a correcting market with shares...
Without checking the charts, I'm guessing that strategy is a money loser over the last few months and it only makes sense if you think Rivian is going to be stagnant at $30 for a while. The strikes you're using have pretty significant loss risk to grind out limited upside potential. If price...
I find it's faster and easier to raise and fold most 3rd row seats manually - plus 1 vote for keeping it manual as standard. Same for keeping dual zone as standard, but no issues from me if Rivian offers them as additional cost options - I expect they'll have to eventually to stay competitive!
Also, who were your spotters? Seems like you had 2 people trying to do a 1 person job, and they spent a lot of time standing directly downhill, right in your line...not the best place to be if something goes wrong. Same with the dog ?
It's always like that! Good thing is it's reaaally hard to flip as long as you keep the nose pointing the direction gravity wants it to go. Don't get grabby with the brakes and avoid off camber situations as best possible, and if you're feeling too tippy cut your wheels downhill and ease off the...
I'd be really surprised if Rivian completely abandoned traditional automotive low power CAN bus architecture to control ECU sleep and standby communications/vehicle control/data logging functions - there's no excuse using 1 kWh or more per day just to poll the car and pass network traffic, if...
I'm not aware of rear bench seats that tilt the way you're wanting, so it would require captains chairs which takes away a seat.
Alternatively, with 40/20/40 split seats you can fit 3 car seats while leaving room for an open 2nd row seat to slide. Or you can get something with captains chairs...
I'm not trying to pick on you because you seem pretty reasonable, but a $50k SUV built in 2006 is a $71.5k in 2022 dollars so it's not like you're paying more for less now.
For the more direct comparison, I can build out a "comparable" Defender S that hits my high points for around $70k, but...
