Thank you. These are all under the "advanced' label, and I am at the opposite end of that spectrum. I really just want a plug and play system to get past the Rivian abandonment of gen1 ADAS. Certainly what I have now is better than stock Driver+. I just wonder if there's something I can do to...
I cared to look -- I looked -- still lost. See image -- I didn't change anything but I THINK mine by default was set to 2.5. From the link you shared it seems Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 21" should be around 2.2? Which of these twiddly bits should I be twiddling?
This post failed a day or two ago. I just passed the"post" button again when I found it in my browser unposted. I do have the staging.Sunnypilot.ai installed. I also figured out I needed it linked to a sunnypilot account where I configure it. It still doesn't do curves well -- maybe there's a...
I hit it almost just as it arrived. I spent the first 20 minutes gathering tools. It took about 1/2 hour to get the plug out of the AXM and get it forward. It was like 1 minute to get it unplugged but the rest of the time to get it forward so I could attach the harness. The next half hour was...
Did that fuse tap come with the kit (still waiting.... any minute now) or did you buy it separately? I THINK the only thing in the kit is the OBD2 connector.
Very timely video. My Comma 4 is literally showing up today, any minute. I'll be installing it this afternoon and using it to drive to an EV event tomorrow at Embry-Riddle. Hopefully... if I can swing the install.
We booked a powered campsite at the Fishing Bridge RV park and just charged overnight at our campsite each night. It worked great. I would appreciate some DCFC at least at all entrances to the park, but better yet would be in the park somewhere. This is needed at all National Parks.
You're...
Not my Rivian, but my roof glass on my Model X took a hit. I'm getting it replaced via Insurance (no out of pocket money) and having it replaced by a Tesla and Rivian certified glass shop. They are about 100 miles away but will come up to my home to do the replacement. I've used them before when...
I love the national parks and we make an effort to see one or more new National Parks or monuments every year. This year was no exception. We specifically went to Rapid City South Dakota to visit Wind Caves National Park and Badlands National Park -- which were great and I'm glad we went. The...
A recent road trip through a dozen western states I DCFC a total of 41 times and used ChargePoint 8 times, Electrify America 2 times, RAN 10 times and Tesla 21 times.
Average cost of charge (total spent divided by kWh added):
ChargePoint $0.41
Electrify America $0.51
RAN $0.56
Tesla $.037...
Timing is everything. They often seem to be on the move. Driving down the road, they're they are mosying along. Come back in 30 minutes and they'll be gone. We did spot several who found a good spot to just hang out. Keep an eye out for them.
Your trip sounds even more epic. North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska is about as far east as we've been driving anything. We've been to the eastern states but fly and rent a car to do so. Next year's plan is to drive east, yet somehow make it back to Oregon for a family and high school class...
7238.2 miles, according to the trip meter. 4286.6 towing our camper and the rest driving around exploring where we camped. We started at home in Arizona, went through Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, and back to Arizona.
Just finished a 49 day road trip. We were in some remote areas where you just don't see other EVs and I'm not sure where the closest Rivian service was. I did have some fear that something like this would happen to us when the closest service was 500 miles away. Fortunately we didn't have...
Rivian only shows a subset of the chargers. It ignores providers like Red-E, Loop, maybe even IONNA. ABRP seems to list them all. There is also one free ChargePoint DCFC on a route I take often that isn’t listed in Rivian nav even though supposedly Rivian includes ChargePoint
I have built a...
Haha -- in this case, you are correct. The Rivian nav shows how many are available and kiddos this updated. By selecting the right charger I kinks how busy it is. In this case there are 84 chargers and I've never seen more than 20 in use at one time, so it is not important here.
When driving...
I have a standard trip I take frequently. There are Rivian chargers on one side of the road and Tesla on the other. It used to automatically pick the Tesla, now it automatically picks the Rivian. I didn’t change my options nor priorities. I just manually click on the Tesla and add it to my route...
