That would be a bad day for folks who took that chance. Since a kid (80’s) I’ve known Chrysler/Jeep/Ram have poor reliability so I wouldn’t take that chance on this new technology with them.
From what I’ve seen all leases have sales tax. At least you’re not in Texas. We get charged sales tax on the full price of the vehicle, not just the payments.
if we buy it after the lease, we pay the sales tax again.
I just received the rock sliders for my Gen 2 R1S from EV Sportline. They confirmed that the Gen 2 TP55 bolts are slightly off set from Gen 1 so they had to retool it.
If the tax credit is eliminated, EV car manufactures might have to make hard decisions about the features in the vehicles in the $25k-45k price range. They will be more basic vehicles with inexpensive materials and components versus having fully loaded, luxury brand features.
Rivian has to expand into other markets for sure. From what I heard from a Rivian SC employee, the R1s exceed weight restrictions in Europe so they will have to wait until the R2 being produced to expand to that market.
That’s what I was told, but rumor mills could be at work with that statement.
All fair points. BYD may be at a disadvantage with the potential tariffs by the incoming administration.
Hopefully the R2 will be easier to assemble with less bells and whistles so ramp up will be more achievable versus R1s
I have the rock sliders on pre-order for my Gen 2 R1S. Can’t wait to get them! Will there be an install video like the one you have for Gen 1 vehicles?
They had a $2500 incentive for a Gen 2 R1S at the end of September. I ordered 4 days before that and they wouldn’t budge. There was another guy who ordered 11 hours too early and didn’t get it.
It stinks, but the way I looked at it as they will be profitable sooner by paying full price.
What is your VIN? Mine is 57XXX. I have 1400 miles on my R1S with no issues so far.
I’m sorry to hear your going through this. Hopefully it is an easy fix.
