I don't find it bad. Not as good as tesla today but it's acceptable. Tesla's navigation was really bad early in it's years too. Improved to being great only about maybe 3 or 4 years ago. Google maps would be good but I see what Rivian is trying to achieve. As early adopters we need to expect...
I love my R1S despite a few quirks. No car is perfect and it's hard to remember how much goes right with every drive. For such a young company that's building such a capable and technically advanced vehicle, Rivian is far ahead of the pack in many ways.
These are the settings I'm using thanks to another person who posted on these forums and they are the best I've heard so far on gen2 premium. I can't find that thread otherwise I'd link to it. Thanks "Robert"
SW issues have let up in recent days and I'm really loving this SUV more and more. Did a road trip to key west and back on a single charge. Range estimation was accurate the whole trip (never achieved that in my Tesla). Tried some new EQ settings posted here by another user and the premium audio...
I've had a lot of SW issues as well with my 2025 R1S. The hardware is excellent but the SW is very buggy. I think they have a lot to iron out with the gen2 platform. I'm holding out hope because I really like the car and like the company.
Well, I may have spoken too soon in my original post reviewing the car. Buyer's remorse is starting to sink in. The hardware is great. I love the way it drives, the performance, the comfort, etc... but the SW robustness is scary how unreliable it is. I've had to reset the car at least 6 times in...
I like it but I don't love it. It's not a high quality solution but it's acceptable. The sliding covers are a little cheap feeling. I used an exacto knife to carve away at the interference with the drawer and it works great now.

I haven't DC fast charged yet, probably won't for a long time as I don't have any roadtrips coming up. It's a bigger battery than the X so it will take longer.
Coming from a 2022 Model X. Loved my Tesla, was my second X, just wanted to get back into a real SUV again - had an Escalade for 10 years before my first X.
Picked it up 1 week ago. No issues with gaps, scratches or any cosmetic complaints. Quality has been great overall. Love the interior. I...
Not sure how well this will hold up in the long run but for $15 and the cost of some 3M molding tape it seems worth a try. No holes drilled. I removed the rear view mirror cover, put the visor mount linked below into the recessed slot towards the front of the cover and applied some molding tape...
