I am sure it is a very tough balancing act...... rationing cash in order to make it to the other side of the chasm. I would offer three things: 1) my experience with the southern CA center close to us has been exceptional, although it took three months to get in last time, 2) I have two R1T's...
I believe I finally have solutions for everything long I want to haul. As someone else suggested, I bought the Loadd solution from the Peoria company. It works well for large, heavy loads. It is well designed and will secure everything within reason. However, for long pieces of lumber, the...

Has anyone figured out how to use those worthless straps that hold the bikes in place? They are sewn in, so impossible to replace with ones that work. They do not hold at all.
There are a few Rivians in Mammoth. We have a charger in our garage as I expect the rest do as well. There are no chargers in town that I am aware of. However, if you charge in Bishop, you should have enough for your trip. Yes, you will lose a bunch going up the hill, but driving around...
It is simpler than that. What makes car companies work for the last 100 years, what they invested the most in, have the most skills in, things that made their brand, are now totally irrelevant. The skills and technology going forward and 100% different.
it is the same with most (all?) four wheel drive vehicles. I used to unlock my front wheel hubs on icy surfaces. In normal four wheel drive mode, my Jeep would become a hockey puck. Technology can help, but when it is super slick, four wheel drive becomes a handicap. Of course, the opposite...
I think you made my point very well. The US models on that list are not 4 door sedans by any stretch. They are either trucks or SUVs. Las time I looked, Toyota and Honda are are not US companies.
Rivian’s strategy and performance over the past two years positions the company to be the only new EV manufacturer that has an excellent chance of making it. Lucid has great technology but a very dumb strategy. The two most popular vehicles in the US by miles are the pick up truck and the...
I am returning my manual tonneau. This is my second one, both broke within the first couple of uses. The release mechanism is so flimsy, it should be pulled as an option and redesigned. I am either going after market or will wait for the powered option. I just wish they would come out and...
Sorry folks, my experience has been the total opposite. The service centers have been exceptional. Best car experience I have ever had, including some very expensive cars. And Tesla is the very worst. Black and white really. My guess is I live in Southern CA and the rest of the country is...
It’s California. They class the RT 1 as a “commercial vehicle” due to its weight. I had to go through tons of red tape and forms to finally get my title. Which, being California, they charged me for again.
Ok, thanks. I need it for some work I have to do so will drive up to your location if your guy doesn’t want it. While it looks good for bikes, I want to use it when I carry lumber too long for the bed but when I can keep the tailgate up.
Fix the tonneau. Replace all the current, junk, plastic, manual ones with the third party aluminum one. Give us all the originally promised power one that works.
Great idea. My manual one broke again, and I was being extra careful when trying to release it. It is just a horrible design with a tiny, thin plastic piece connection the cable to the release. If they would just replace the connection with a metal one, it would be fine.
