My "Replace 12v Battery" message appeared Monday evening, and even though my initial mobile service appointment was 2 weeks away, a tech reached out a day before and they came and swapped the batteries out in my driveway yesterday morning.
3.5 day turnaround is not bad. I guess I'm one of...
I received the dreaded 12 battery notification today. I had to call to request mobile service, and the guy I spoke to said a Knoxville (I live about 25 min north of downtown Knoxville) is coming very soon. Didn't seem like a sales pitch/bologna to me, FWIW.
My 12v battery appointment is...
I would absolutely buy my R1T again. 23k miles in a little over 2 years. No issues, no service center visits. (knock on wood!)
It's hauled my daughter to/from college (with all her furniture and stuff) a couple times, it's taken me on a handful of great off road excursions, down twisty...
Just putting the vehicle in "Park" and walking away. It felt odd not having to "turn it off" to exit the vehicle.
Now whenever I'm in a gas vehicle, I get out and leave the engine running half the time. lol!
I've had this happen a lot. If you hit "Continue" (to go to the next destination) once you get to the charger, I "think" it stops raising the charge goal. It worked last time for me, at least.
Before I figured out that trick, I would just remember what the goal was when I pulled in and just...
I know what you mean-- my last truck was a Ram 1500. Even in single digit weather, I had to turn it off after a mile or two down the road since it would get so hot you didn't want to touch the wheel!
The Rivian steering wheel definately doesn't get that hot. I think it's much more...
Thanks for the heads up! As cheap as they are, I went ahead and picked up a couple of them. I've had a habit of carrying around detailing spray, rags, glass cleaner, extra jacket, etc lately.
This is good info: thank you! I'm dying to get mine, even though mine is "not compatible" and this is a very expensive upgrade for what it is. This gives me hope!
I also called about the PTC. I settled on a demo model without a PTC (even though I really wanted one) after the guide said it will be available in the Gear Shop as an option s00n.
The representative said mine wasn't eligible, either. VIN 14,xxx. Bummer! I would have done it in a heartbeat...
I just took my sophomore daughter back to school at Vanderbilt. I felt like the Clampets and threatened to strap a rocking chair to the top. 😂
The tailgate was so close to closing!
FWIW, I made a trip between Knoxville, TN to Nashville, TN two weeks ago and the EV Go chargers at a Pilot Flying J that used to show up in the Rivian nav (I've navigated to it nearly a dozen times) were no longer listed. Even with the the EV Go network selected.
I didn't "need" to charge, but...
If anyone is looking for center caps to fill the hole left after removing the aero covers in their 21" wheels, these fit like a glove:
They're a good match to the wheels:
I couldn't bring myself to drop $100 on four of them from the Gear Shop...
Bummer. I would have thought half-shafts would have been considered power train the same way driveshafts are covered under an ICE powertrain warranty. I've never looked into whether axleshafts are covered under an ICE powertrain warranty.
Great idea! If I didn't need the front cup holders in my lower console organizer (has cup holders near the 'firewall') to hold my tall water bottle, I would order this in a heartbeat. I think this sits low enough to interfere with that, unfortunately.
