riviantrackr confirmed the timing of the trial begins when they release it, not when you update:
RivianTrackr on X: "I reached out to Rivian with a bunch of questions about Connect+ and they provided a few answers. Q: After the 60-day free trial is done, can I use my phone hotspot connected to...
Those are moving behind the Connect+ paywall, too, right? So it's not so much that you're opting into a new trial of something - Rivian is just putting a countdown timer on the heretofore free trial we've been on this whole time.
AFAIK, there is no ad-supported tier of Apple Music at all. You either have a subscription or you don't. I don't know why they'd call it out except as marketing fluff.
I thought it was clarified (maybe in an Out of Spec video?) back when they first announced Apple Music coming natively to the...
No, to be clear, I'd rather they piecemeal apps out as they're ready. Apple Music was certainly at the top of my list since I'm not paying for another music service.
My comment was more about the value of Connect+ and the timing of this trial for folks who are holding out for other...
Happy to see Apple Music ASAP, though it would've been nice to see all the Connect+ required streaming services roll out at once.
Has anyone confirmed that waiting to take the update will actually delay your 60-day trial, or are they calling it a 60-day trial but once Connect+ actually goes...
Point of clarification: It's not cheaper to not include CarPlay. Automakers don't pay a dime for CP. It's less potential subscription and data partnership revenue if users choose CP, though.
or 2 months later for some of us. Gen 2 was announced like the week after I took delivery. I'm not salty about not getting some of the changes. Just glad I leased.
This is exactly how it's done on several other vehicles. Imagine it just living in the "app" area of the music/media screen. Rivian could keep all their existing controls and you could still access settings and other screens. It's not an all-or-nothing display for other vehicles that lack...
I haven't heard of any adjustments like that. I was in a similar situation with a 160mi trip home from delivery.
At $0.30/mi overage at the end of the lease, that trip home will cost you $39. Just try to enjoy your miles.
dual motor performance on 21s here... i voted in the poll according to the actual 2.48 that the truck shows, but for some context: that's driving my first ~1500 mi with a pretty heavy foot, showing lots of folks the party tricks, etc., and most of my miles being ~75mph on the highway. I...
Very reasonable to be skeptical of that, but:
1) Apple isn't mandating that any OEMs implement it that deeply. They're just providing the tools to expand it beyond the media screen. Rivian could limit their implementation however they see fit - they still have complete control of the displays...
Very excited for some of the stuff that's already been announced like Connect+ features, so here's my wishlist of stuff that hasn't been announced:
1. Manual kneel mode
2. Wiper settings, IMO, should go OFF -> Auto 1 -> Auto 2 -> Auto 3 rather than OFF-3-2-1
3. Some solution to stop...
If only we could manually go into kneel mode, all this would be irrelevant.
FWIW, if you put it into park in kneel mode outside the garage and then pulled in, I don't think it raises out of kneel mode until you go a certain speed and/or distance. Mine is still kneeling when I leave the...
Came to say the same thing. I'm thinking it's the motors having no damping or separation, probably near the pedal area. Not sure if it's fixable, but I planned to ask about it at my first service.
This is the sole reason, when asked, my kids (8 & 4) prefer to ride in my truck instead of mom's Telluride.
I'm not bothered by some whimsy but without kids I would be indifferent. However, I fell in love with cars at a very young age and if a fuzzy yeti gets my kids passionate about the cars...
