Point of clarification: It's not cheaper to not include CarPlay. Automakers don't pay a dime for CP. It's less potential subscription and data partnership revenue if users choose CP, though.

I haven't heard of any adjustments like that. I was in a similar situation with a 160mi trip home from delivery. At $0.30/mi overage at the end of the lease, that trip home will cost you $39. Just try to enjoy your miles.

Very reasonable to be skeptical of that, but: 1) Apple isn't mandating that any OEMs implement it that deeply. They're just providing the tools to expand it beyond the media screen. Rivian could limit their implementation however they see fit - they still have complete control of the displays...
