  1. My totaled 2022 R1T wound up in eastern europe

    Hopefully it's a Ukrainian enjoying a rebuilt Rivian, and not….. https://euromaidanpress.com/2024/08/13/how-eco-cars-from-toyota-and-tesla-joined-ukraines-fight-against-russia/
  2. Next Rivian Software Release Date?

There's never an "announced release date". It comes out when it comes out, and it rolls out to individual vehicles unpredictably. (Other than that if you subscribe to Connect+, you should get it before people who don't subscribe to Connect+, internet service dependent.)
  3. Why can't they retrofit existing R1's with NACS?

I've had J1772+Tesla vehicles at the same time for many years. I've had dual J1772 EVSEs. And the positions the vehicles park changes, so "one J1772 + one Tesla" wouldn't work either. I've had zero problems using the Tesla J1772 adapter.
  4. Is the current update 2025.26.30?

It takes time for the latest update to get pushed out to all vehicles. If you subscribe to Connect+, you should get it earlier; if you don't, it will be later by up to a few weeks. You also get it faster if you are on reliable WiFi when parked. If you don't have your vehicle connected to WiFi...
  5. Why can't they retrofit existing R1's with NACS?

Why couldn't they? Because they want people to buy new vehicles.
  6. What’s the one “non-overland” item that’s always in your recovery toolkit?

This. Having an extension cord can be surprisingly useful on a vehicle with power outlets. And the 3-in-1 saves my bacon quite often.
  7. Tow receiver too close to vehicle?

I have a longer adjustable-height-ball-hitch for my T@B 400. But that's mostly because that's what I had for my prior trailer. I've used a "three ball" that's about the same distance away from the bumper in a pinch, and it worked fine. The "flange" on the front of the trailer coupler did get...
  8. Plug & Charge with Electrify America and IONNA - coming in next update

I'm just happy to see that EA stall count/use is finally arriving.
  9. Anyone towing 6,500 lbs or more with any regularity?

My prior travel trailer was an ~8000 lb (loaded) one. As you can see, it's a bit of a brick. Tall and wide. Those are what kill efficiency (combined with speed.) At 65 MPH, I was getting 0.7-0.8 mi/kWh. Which meant less than 100 miles 100%-0%. (This pictured stop was my very first public...
  10. Gear Guard symbol yea or nay?

The Gary badge is an "if you know you know" kind of thing. And if you know, you know that that badge ain't it. So I have no problem with this.
  11. LATEST UPDATE DISABLED DRIVER ASSIST, COLLISION DETECTION & BLIND SPOT LANE CHANGE DETECTION!

If doing a reset doesn't fix it, contact the service center. Really, for anyone who has a "major feature stops working" - that's what you do. Do a full reset, see if that fixes it. If not, schedule a service center visit. And if one of the *SAFETY* features stops working, make sure to mention...
  12. RAN charger gets NACS charging cord - spotted in Normal, IL

As long as you aren't somewhere temperature-limited, I don't see why not. 500A is 500A. You can get 500A through the adapter. I'd just be concerned in particularly hot places where the chance of overheating the adapter causing derating could happen more often.
  13. Rivian Torch (Flashlight) Charger - Found!

Yep. It was a single flashlight/torch for sale used via their website. Not a "generic similar".
  14. Rivian reputation, what do non-Rivian drivers think about Rivians?

Well, another anecdote - I go to the dog park at generally the same time every day. There are a bunch of "regulars" at that time. Multiple have commented positively about the Rivian. One even worked on some of the early promotional videos for Rivian. (He was the driver behind the wheel of the...
  15. U.S. opens probe into nearly 2.9 million Tesla vehicles over FSD traffic violations

And I'm telling you that is a severe underreporting. I've probably had that many incidents with FSD that would qualify for that in just the past six months, I just never reported them. I bet with this making news, we'll see a huge uptick in reports, now that people know "oh, shoot, I should...
  16. Is this just condensation?

Taste it and find out. :p Or at least touch it, see if it feels like water or oil. Put a paper towel under it and see if it drops clear or colored, etc.
  17. U.S. opens probe into nearly 2.9 million Tesla vehicles over FSD traffic violations

Only 44 incidents? If we're including minor infractions, I probably have that many alone in my vehicle. No collisions or injuries, because I actually do supervise my FSD, and take over before it does anything truly terrible.
  18. Idle fee hate

The few times I have done road trips where we stay at a hotel (most of our road trips are camping) I try to choose a hotel that both has charging, and is somewhat near a rapid charger. Arrive at the hotel, see if the L2s are available, if not, no big deal, I'll hit the rapid charger in the...
  19. Rivian Switching from Alexa to Google Gemini - Bringing Voice / Text Integration (reported by RivianTracker)

I will say, I don't trust Google any more than I trust Amazon, but at least on the Google side, I have my own "Google Workspace" that I control 100% of the data on, so as long as I can log in with that account, and don't have to use a Gmail, I'll be fine with using it. Now the two big...
