The color is close to what I'd call Postal Blue. If you think of what a postman used to wear for their uniform, it was almost slate blue with a hint of green mixed in it.
Much more subtle tone than the Rivian Blue. Think of the original launch green kind of intensity, only in slate blue hue.
Just seen the CCove R2 at the Trader Joe's parking lot in South OC with an Illinois plate. The couple with a dog came out of the store right after us and headed directly to the R2 as we were looking at it.
The man, I assume works for Rivian, said he just drove out from the factory. He was...
Tire pressure setting is a function of the vehicle weight more than anything else. Some tires are designed with lower max pressure but they also tend to have lower load index.
I looked at both the 119 and 115 load index for the LTX M/S2 when I replaced my R1S 22" tires. I selected the 115...
I was joking but I get your point. :)
I live in SoCal and seeing what happened to those affected in the Palisade fire last year on the news, made me think about some of the emergency contingency ideas.
I know vehicles can be replaced, easy enough but it also carries lots of stuff that cannot...
Yeah if it feels the same as Elise at 60% speed is not a good thing. I ageee about that. Also the two vehicles are for different purposes and can be a complement, which is where I am in life about different vehicle for different use cases.
Driving in snow, realized that the headlamps do not generate enough heat to melt the snow' thereby, ice formation and at some point rendering the head lights useless.
I now carry a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol with me when driving into possible snow areas/mountains in the winter.
We put so much emphasis on 0-some speed; acceleration. It's important so don't get me wrong. I own a very slow (by today's standards) ICE and very quick and fast ICE and EVs in between.
Even the so called driving experience, is subjective enough that there is no ultimate answer. While most...
Glad you're ok enough to write about. Sorry to see your loss.
I recall your question while back. If your R2 reservation is not very early, and still set on getting the R2, that is a quandary indeed.
Solving the daily transportation is the priority that needs to be addressed well before your...
That's not what I said. Rather, without Elon, it's just an EV company and with Elon, it's a tech company inventing their own future as time goes on with growth.
You don't have to agree with me, the market does given its value and there are too many institutional holders to be a meme stock...
What you say is true and is missing one other key item. Wheel size/tire width. Narrower tires have lower rolling resistance and does make a noticeable difference. For similar wheel diameter, it has narrower width tires than R1; thereby, adding further efficiency.
This might be one interpretation. Another is if the board got rid of Elon, they know that Tesla would be valued as just another EV company and be worth less than Ford or GM, and certainly nothing near $100B, let alone $1.3T.
The employees want Elon to stop because their RSU and grants were...
Just yesterday, I filled up one of my vehicles for $5.95/gal at Costco gas. We've not seen any gas prices lower than $4/gal for couple of years where I am.
Everything I've seen, read and have heard say that hybrids and PHEV sales are climbing but not EV or pure ICEV. This year, so far EV...
Like others have said, I have never used the camp speaker. Have not used the flashlight and what iz really thought we would use on the regular basis is the 3rd row seats. In 2.5 yrs, it's been used twice. the 3rd row capability was one of the main reason for buying R1S.
We don't talk about this enough. The depreciation for EVs are so large/significant, it is one of the major drawbacks for people wanting buy EVs. While most ICEV/PHEV/Hybrids see roughly 35~40% depreciation in 3 years, EVs see 50~60% over the same period.
For the first time, I am looking to...
It does not bother me at all. I used to drive in the commute traffic with my manual box vehicles (and I live in SoCal with bazillion vehicles). It's not the most enjoyable condition and is an acceptable downside to the manual box. The upside far exceeds the down side.
Also I lived in San...
