You're not crazy. I live in a very hilly area with nice curvy country roads, so I do love me some sport when I'm alone. I'd probably use more sport with passengers if the regen was slightly slower to keep the bucking down. I'm in all-purpose 95% of the time when driving people around for their...
Same with "bucking" in sport mode. If I hit a bump with firm suspension and slightly get off the throttle the combo of instant regen + suspension bounce + my foot bouncing a little makes the bucking embarrassing and uncomfortable for passengers. I'm coming from a Model 3, and it wasn't a problem...
That's pretty tempting since my wheels would still be two-tone, just black and dark gray vs the silver. Plus if I hate it I'm only out a hundred bucks. Any chance you have photos of the black color installed on a wheel? Your video doesn't show a wide shot of the finished wheel at the end.
Last night I decided to do a quick wash before the sun went down. Put it in the new car wash mode so the charge door didn’t open on me. Turns out it’s probably for staying inside the car.
when I was done, the car would lock and unlock with my fob, but the door handles wouldn’t come out. After a...
I also tried to hold my phone against the MagSafe charger with the rubber mat in between. No sticky, no charge. So hiding the MagSafe under the rubber mat by ripping out the coils or something isn't happening either.
My F150 def sucked the air in on my cooled seats. Then it blew that hot air off my sweaty butt right onto the back passenger via an exhaust in the mid-back of the seat. My kids absolutely hated it (for good reason). I wasn't sure on the Rivian but I'm glad y'all confirmed it "blows."
I think it's because you have to be aligned with ONE coil to charge. If your phone moves, it's losing that coil and basically has to start over with another one.
Bottom line, it feels like Rivian could have saved some money and made the wireless charger more effective by paying more attention...
Now I'm curious, so I found this article about coil arrays: https://www.moshi.com/en/blog/more-coils-doesnt-mean-more-power/
Layering of coils increases distance - In order to fit the maximum number of coils under a charging surface, these coils are often layered, partially overlapping each...
So I tried to take the rubber mat off the center console to unplug the wireless charger as I saw in a few other threads. Surprisingly on mine, the double-sided tape was super strong and the cover to the wireless charger came right off with the rubber pad! So, here's a look at the TREMENDOUS...
