Thanks, all. Looks like my local R1 Shop is still out of inventory. Might just be Saturday. But I changed my Primary address to Normal, IL to see what might be available from the factory and still no inventory. Any tips are appreciated.
Thank you! Yeah, I think I read somewhere about location but forgot! Phew, will do some searching again. Maybe someone else will find this thread a good reminder.
Best of luck on the power tonneau. If you ordered a while ago, then I think you’re spot on with holding out. Since I haven’t ordered...
Unsure if this is News or not. But about to pull trigger on an in stock R1T in hopes to get it in that 7-14 day window. And saw this morning the Shop has zero inventory and the home page no longer says you can get one in 14 days. “Check back tomorrow.” They had a great close out to the quarter...
I still don’t get how they can’t make the manual tonneau covers at 10x the rate they do R1Ts. The covers look a bit less complex. :) Unless they are being made overseas and we’re all just waiting on that container ship to pull into port and offload (literally) tons of them. But if that were the...
Agreed, thus the qualifier that it’s not apples-apples. But there are other factors in the math that I don’t know. E.g., It takes a lot longer to charge than to gas up, so while fewer trips to the public charger, the stays are longer. So does that mean we need more stalls to avoid waits? Also...
RAN is good investment for Rivian still. One analyst valued Tesla’s supercharger network at as much as $100B! And while it’s not truly an apples-apples comparison, there are currently about 160,000 gas stations in the US, far more than charging stations. So there’s plenty of room for more...
Thanks for the research and numbers. But I hope they do far better than that. 900 stations is too little to cover a continent, even if you’re only focusing on adventure areas and assume commercial chargers will fill in the rest. There’s no shame in replicating Tesla in this and work to provide...
Agreed and am encouraged by indicator RAN will continue to be built out, assuming Rivian can afford the startup costs. Great portfolio diversification in long run (when they, like Tesla, open up to more customers at a premium), which can help Rivian weather vehicle demand fluctuations. “Luxury”...
OK, with the latest Rivian app update, I'm struggling to understand what you get with the Rivian wall charger that you can't do via either the app or in the truck. The wall charger costs more, why should I get that over a third party charger for my garage.
