  1. 7 months later and a 50k repair bill, I have my R1T back!

If her Insurance doesn’t have enough coverage, go after her personally. You can always sue her personally for the lost value you suffered because of her. It was her choice to cheap out on insurance and expose herself to liability. It’s not your problem that she decided to save a few bucks and...
  2. Max battery pack - delivery waiting time?

With the 400-mile claim and the 2.5 miles per kWh best-case scenario, the max pack has to add at least 30 kWh.
  3. Max battery pack - delivery waiting time?

I’d say the max pack will have much lower value once Rivian gets access to the Superchargers. If you have to travel heavily in your Rivian before the Supercharger access happens, get the max pack. Otherwise, don’t.
  4. 7 months later and a 50k repair bill, I have my R1T back!

For future reference, never settle with insurance companies on your own. Get a lawyer. 30% commission they take is well worth it. You will end up with a better outcome even after they take their 30% commission.
  5. RAN Charging Costs are now live! (at certain stations)

True, but these people don’t care about fuel expenses. If I have a Model Y and a R1T in the garage, I will commute in the Model Y as long as the other adult doesn’t need to go anywhere at the same time. I know it sounds strange, but I prefer not to have to maneuver a large vehicle in a parking...
  6. RAN Charging Costs are now live! (at certain stations)

You can also get a free charge at a hotel. That’s another argument many would use.
  7. RAN Charging Costs are now live! (at certain stations)

I may be an outlier here, but my impression is that nowadays in a family of two adults, one works from home for sure (or both do). Therefore, a vehicle of the size of the Rivian will mostly be used for going out of town while a smaller vehicle (hopefully an EV) will be used for commuting and...
  8. RAN Charging Costs are now live! (at certain stations)

$.36 per kWh plus tax, at 2 miles per kWh is right under $.19 cents per mile Gasoline in Georgia (where I live) right now is $2.75 per gallon. Provided 20 miles per gallon (in the truck of this size) on the highway, it’s right under $.19 per mile. Does anyone see a problem here? Long-distance...
  9. Would you try it? Thanksgiving + Family, R1T, NC>Florida 800 miles

You can do this in the winter. I’ve done this trip multiple times in the winter in the ID.4 from the EA in Woodstock, GA to the EA in Manchester (similar distance as from the new RAN near Cumberland Mall), charging to 100% in Woodstock and arriving with about 15% in Manchester. Rivian should be...
  10. Would you try it? Thanksgiving + Family, R1T, NC>Florida 800 miles

Can you please stop hijacking threads about roadtrips in the Rivian. It's getting annoying.
  11. Would you try it? Thanksgiving + Family, R1T, NC>Florida 800 miles

Donald, it’s seems fitting for you to refer to yourself in plural - a good ol’ authoritarian that you are.
  12. Would you try it? Thanksgiving + Family, R1T, NC>Florida 800 miles

Donald, do you like your Thanksgiving crow: medium or well done?
  13. Would you try it? Thanksgiving + Family, R1T, NC>Florida 800 miles

Donald, I think you are running out of steam here. But please post your report when you come back from your trip. Have a great time!
  14. Reverse and Drive are backwards.....

This is how it was on ICE with automatic transmission and the gear shifter on the steering wheel. Reverse was up. Same is with the gear shifter between the driver and the passenger: the reverse gear is moving the gear shifter forward.
  15. Would you try it? Thanksgiving + Family, R1T, NC>Florida 800 miles

I don’t frequent those, but you are welcome to repost the link there, Donald.
  16. Would you try it? Thanksgiving + Family, R1T, NC>Florida 800 miles

You didn’t read the whole thing that mentions the woman threatening to shoot multiple people, did you? And what does a different forum have to do with anything? The ID.4 uses the same CCS chargers as the Rivian. Wow, Donald! Have a nice trip.
  17. Would you try it? Thanksgiving + Family, R1T, NC>Florida 800 miles

I think the real holiday rush will be the day before the Thanksgiving, and I think it will be really bad this year. Probably reports of violence at CCS chargers will follow this year’s Thanksgiving week.
  18. Would you try it? Thanksgiving + Family, R1T, NC>Florida 800 miles

Exactly, Donald. You won’t have to deal with the Thanksgiving rush on the scarce CCS charging infrastructure. I don’t expect you running into the issues that you would run into if you traveled during the Thanksgiving week both ways. CCS is bad enough on a regular day. The Thanksgiving rush this...
  19. Would you try it? Thanksgiving + Family, R1T, NC>Florida 800 miles

Taking it on a 1,000-mile each way long trip during the Thanksgiving week is different from taking it on a similar trip a week before the Thanksgiving week, Donald.
